Red rock canyon SP, anyone?

Thinking about going to Red Rock Canyon near Mojave, CA next weekend for a one-day mild wheeling. Anyone knows that place or surroundings? Can't seem to find any accurate trail map online. Thanks

Heading there Saturday morning for an overnighter.

Never been, which is kind of odd since it's on my way to almost everywhere else we go.

The wife got a trail book at AAA of all places that has some good info in it.

Wanna meet up?

Red Rock Canyon is a nice scenic area to explore, especially on the east side of the 14. I have not been out there in awhile so I can't recommend any specific trails. Burro Schmidt's tunnel is always interesting to walk through. Check in at the ranger station for some ideas. They used to be really friendly to off-roaders and still could be... Here is a map I scanned that could be helpful if you can read it...

Be sure to go to Bickel camp Bickel Camp
El Paso Joe and mark should be there be sure to stop by and say hollow they can tell you lots of story's about the area and no trip out there would be complete with out a visit.
To get there, If you go past Red rock and dove Springs a few miles you will see some bill boards thats where EP 15 starts. There on the right side of the road a sign saying Borrow Schmidt tunnel.
EP 15 takes you in to the hart of the El Paso's and can be done in a high clearance vehicle. when you get to the canyon if you go to the right you will see some of the most beautiful colors and clefts and a small river that flows for about 1/4 mile. to the left you can get to Bickel and the tunnel. holland camp is also relly cool place to go if you keep going down EP 15 and go to goler wash.

If you see joe tell him Calico Jonh sent you

Most appreciated! Will look into it.
High clearance = 6" lift? Or will a lame, unlocked stock 80 do the trick? I already wheeled some Grade 4 trails but don't know if I can do much more.

Went there and that is a cool place (even cooler than West LA, temps in RRC y'day were in the high 80s vs low 100s in the city).

Definitely the kind of location you want to bring your Mud pals into and spend some dusty wheeling time. I'll post some pics later on.

I think I saw you guys at Bickel Camp. I was going to stop by to say hi but I wasnt sure if it was or not. Then the caretaker starting talking to us and going over the history of Bickel Camp so I really didnt want to be rude and interrupt him. The weather was definately much cooler than expected.
