I think they are talking about supersize this sign post that I created 4 or 5 years ago and gave to Jim with help from Amando. Oddly, it look kind small to me even thought this sign post is 15 ft high.
This sign post was only meant to last a year or two however Jim likes it and his crew improved by adding a steel base for more stability and easier to set it up for years to come. See what you started Jay?
I guess it was a couple years ago after adding lots of signs (weight and wind resistance) we found that a severely windy afternoon was too much for the sign post. It came down with a thud. Fortunately, no one was nearby or they would have got a big headache. We decided to add some "Hanna Quality". Yes, it's a tad "overbuilt" just the way we like it! __________________ Jim Brantley -- KI6TLC -- TLCA#6433 -- Pismo Beach, CA '86 FJ60 "Knuckles", '93 FZJ80 "Ruby", 69 Fj40 "Katherine's" realcruiser.com Surf N Turf 2009 November 6-8, 2009 - Pismo Beach, CA

Man that brings back memorys, really would like to come down this year and see Jim and the gang. I felt like I was meeting legends, like Texican, Jim B, Kowboy on and on I could go.
Good times for sure. Hope to see you guys this year. Rob Quote:

Expect to hear more from Alvaro about this year's Sand Chef competetion soon.
Hopefully, I'll get the web page updated too. Meantime, here's a link to last year's thread... http://forum.ih8mud.com/trails-event...ef-2007-a.html I would expect teams will need to be identified (to Alvaro) before the end of October. The count down is on! ![]() ![]()

Whats the question. It is a cooking comp. at SnT. Teams are given an ingredient at some point just before the event begins and they scramble to fix up their best dishes using said ingredient. The results are judged by a panel of judges that is selected via a totally secrect process. Food is eaten and spirits flow. Some sand gets in your food too.

Sand Chef is what makes Friday night at Surf and turf such a blast. The effort that the teams put into the competition is incredible. The food flows, the spirits flow and the laughter flows. It's a great time.

I found all the information and I'm considering entering. Seems like all the guys are pros so if I enter I might consider the team name to be Underdogs.

to answer the question about PJ Whal's surf shop. It has been closed since the early -mid 90's. He still shapes boards locally and sells them at local shops from Pismo to SLO. I have known PJ and his family for years and they are great folks. He is a true local.

Well it turns out that SnT is the same weekend as Homecoming at our local High School, And since Will is a senior this year looks like we will have to miss SnT.
I told Will he could bring his date and I am sure we could work something out. This could be the first year SnT goes formal LOL. Anyway as always have a Great time everyone and see you on the trail. Rob, Wendy and Will
