No, not much I've been on one run with those guys at Box Canyon. Although they were all very nice and I don't have anything bad to say about them I think they are a little more "hardcore" than where our interest lies. We bought the FJ for adventures, expeditions, and to take us places we haven't been before, not necessarily to conquer boulders every weekend. That's their thing, and thats cool but it's too bad none went to Pismo....anywho we are mostly over on AZFJ.ORG or Expedition Portal....I posted up about this on AZFJ and there are a few people interested so I'm sure there will be a caravan at some point!

Actually I'm talking about everything....inside the truck, outside the truck, in my shoes, in the tent, and in my ears which is the worst!!! But it should still be fun

Whaoo.... Slow down there... You're bringing 2 Jeeps and a 40?

Can we get a ruling on this?

Yeah, I guess you can hang out.... Just try not to mention what you drove.... It'll save you the hazing...

And FYI: 17900626 seconds

James--I thought the fun run was cool. I had hoped to be in top shape for this year's event, but I'm still nursing a broken foot, so the training is slow going! Anyway, keep the fun run. I'm hoping you'll run it this year.

One thought for something else to do Friday or Saturday--Softcore tours of the back dunes led by the locals for folks who just want to see the sights and not get lost.

Also, volunteering for the poker run, is great fun itself. You get to meet everyone. I'm in again for whatever is needed.

What is the first night the locals will be camping on the beach?

Looking forward to the event as always.

I think similarly on the type of travel i'm interested in... I also frequent expeditionportal. There was a good thread on there as well that I posted on regarding last years event!

I am in for the fun run. Hopefully my stupid knee injury will go away, had to miss Boston because of it. Gives me another reason to pull out the banana yellow running shoes.

So the "Fun Run" is actually a RUN, as in...on foot, with no MOTOR under my butt type run!? Are there any medical personel around? I might keel over if my pace goes any higher than that of a snail...:shotts:

Ahhh man, I am so gonna lose that one... Lifting up my 27 lbs mountain bike is trouble enough, not to mention the manual steering on the 40.

No worries, just remember the seagulls go for the eyeballs first, the sand crabs will make quick work of the soft meat before the high tide clears the beach of any remains.

Fun Run? I rarely use the two words in the same sentence. Driving on the sand is fun. Run/walking in it, not so much. That's why I bring the Pig, so I don't have to run/walk.
But, remember that year we spelled out "TLCA" in the sand for the aerial pic?, and then drove up the beach, single file, in an impromptu parade, then turned and doublebacked down the beach, waving at every Cruiser we passed? All 150 or 170ish or so?. That was an awesome sight. LandCruisers as far as the eye could see. And you got to see every rig, and every smiling driver in one swell foop.
I'm not saying we should rent another airplane, or even spell out "TLCA" with vehicles ('Though we could, just to do it), but a nice, leisurely Cruise up and down the beach, honking and waving at each other might be kinda fun.
