Toys for Tots, Badlands Indiana, Dec. 1

Woody and I have been talking about heading down for this trip. I recall him mentioning someting about Gumby working on a trail ride......
This may ba a repost. Either way, just wondering if folks are heading down for the weekend.
This is always a nice trip and a great cause.
Hope to have a great turnout.

Goebs

Gumby, woody and I were working on a Mission Impossible run for a few of us, but being TFT weekend...MI is already spoken for, so we will have to stick to the normal trails.

However, I wont be there bc I got into an accident yesterday w/ the 4runner and ended up doing some good ditch jumping and the front axle/suspansion is wrecked (yes again)

passing a 17yr old in a stratus on a 2 lane road. When I got along side him he decided to pass the person in front of him and didnt see me. my pass frt tire ate his door then my truck went ditch diving and got some air when I came to a driveway. (I did almost the same thing 5 months ago)

Damage:
bent housing
bent crossmember
centering pins in leafs are broke
damaged knuckle housing

and I havent opened it up yet so I anticipate trunions, seals....

The worst part was the kids mom showed up after the cop cited the kid for misuse of lanes and she bitched until the cop threw up his hands and said fine ill write you both a ticket and you can figure it out in court
He cited me for passing 2 cars at once.......I didnt even pass one car!! I asked what his proof was and he said the kid says that is what he thought you were thinking . SO I GOT A TICKET BC OF WHAT THE KID THOUGHT I WAS THINKING I WAS GOING TO DO

anywho so yeah TFT.....have some prime rib for me

That really sucks!!
Assuming he is insured, you know damn well the insurance companys will say 50/50 instead of spending time/money on arguing it. And his damage is peanuts to yours.

Is this the sign that you needed to wheel the 62??

Woody,
I will shoot you the address Friday. I am headed south to pick up some old cruiser I recently had to purchase....
I will be back Thursday eve. Short trip! Nothing like a two day 1600 mile road trip.
As for next Wednesday, I will be leaving Il. around noon or so . I will make it to the cabin around 5 or so. Hope you can stay for dinner and a beer or three. Be prepaired for a full house and lots of little kids!
I will call Jeff along the way to book my room for the trip.

Who is running Troy's Trail? And why can't we join or run behind? Did anyone speak with Troy in person?
I may try to reach him while traveling.

Goebs

Last time we (Gumby, and I ) were at the Badlands we mentioned MI to troy and he said that we shouldnt have a problem with it and if we want to run it then he trusts woody to lead us. since then Gumby and I had talked to woody about setting the run up for TFT but there is already a group running it and Troy like to keep the group small and capable.

If I were you I would talk to Woody about it, Ive been out of the loop for a while on it.

I might hit you up for one. I have to see what the insurance company is going to do. I will have an appraiser come by this week....He has no idea what he is getting himself into

Are the flames repainted (at least the one corner)?

Not yet, I figured I wait just in case I had another moment on this run. I did take the fender off and roughed it out for bondo though. It came out good enough to be able to paint just the red part of the flames.

Its to bad, i was looking forward to it. Im pretty sure with the group we had planned being "capable" wasnt going to be an issue in the least either.

Oh well, if i get my rig running ill most likely be in Michigan doing some wheeling up there.

Booked room at the Hotel with Jeff. I was stuck with a sleeping room cause Woody has the last one with a bathroom. I just told him to switch the rooms around and he was cooll with that! Sorry about that Brian!!!!!

Let me know your plans for heading to the lake via my cell.

I was planning on going to this run, but my wife is transferring for her work for 3 months, and that is her last day before she leaves.

...I don't think she'll take too kindly to me going wheeling on the last day before she leaves me for 3 months.

pickin up Goebs about 2:30 Thursday in Chicago, then off to Attica to watch the Packers beat the Cowpokes...

just gotta see if there is room on the trailer to squeeze my 40 on....might be a bit tight....

Woody, you probably know this already, but that game is not on network TV. It can only be seen on the NFL Network, which is Dish. I have cable, no game for me. Make sure the Attica Hotel has dish so you can watch Romo choke in front of his childhood hero (Favre)!!!!!
