Azusa Canyon: Ever been there?

Anyone ever go there and if so, what's a good time to get there?

This is in Southern California in the Angeles Forest.

I went up there today to take a look and it was closed. I figure it was because it was later in the day.

Also, As I was driving up, I pulled into one of the Parking Lots and kind of parked temporarily in one of the parking spots and I noticed this "ranger" lady coming up towards me. I figure she was going to tell me they were closing down or something so I started to leave but as I passed her in my truck she didn't say anything yet when I looked in my rear view mirror she was taking down my license plate.

Weird, eh?

Maybe it has something to do with the Exterme fire danger out here and they just want to keep tabs on cars coming in and out.

The whole forest is closed, due to fire danger...........Azusa Canyon draws some of true jackasses of Southern California to the mud bogs, some cool trucks but alot attitude and treatment for the enviroment at times seems lacking from some of the groups. Im not saying that good folks domt go there but alot of talk in Pirate about some of the Azusa clubs

I saw a sign that said the forest was closed, but what exactly does that mean?

Does it mean you can't even drive up there? Wouldn't they have it closed off or something?

Weird

you can drive on the public roads maintained by the County, you cannot stop and recreate till the closure is lifted, I wouldnt expect it to be lifted anytime soon

Hmm, this is all new to me...so I guess I'll be expecting some sort of citation in the mail now. That'd suck because I wasn't even warned.

Ah well.

No in all likeyhood you had your plate written down, now if there is a series of arson fires in that area and a vehicle matching yours is seen in the area you might get a visit.............if not dont worry about it.....they are a little jittery right now..........

Yeah, that's what I though initially too. I guess they can't be to careful.
