Thumbs up Toyota 50th Anniversary Event

Toyota 50th Anniversary Celebration

OPEN TO ALL SOUTHERN CALIFORNIA 4WD TOYOTA OWNERS

On Saturday, October 27th, 2007, there will be a party at the Toyota Museum in Torrance, CA from 10 am to 5 pm to commemorate Toyota's 50th anniversary in the United States.

There will be food, guest speakers from Toyota, local press and lots of Land Cruisers! Toyota America is asking that everyone who owns a Land Cruiser, and who is interested in attending, to show up with their rig to form the largest group of Land Cruisers ever assembled. It would be ideal if you could attend with your collection of restored and unique rigs. Please RSVP for catering purposes.

Here's the Toyota Museum's website: 50th Anniversary Home

The event address:

Toyota U.S.A. Automobile Museum
2076 W. Artesia Boulevard
Torrance, CA 90504

RSVP Required!!! For more info, please contact me at (213) 494-6392 or email me at dozertraxx@aol.com or you can contact the Toyota Museum curator, Susan Sanborn, at (310) 468-4728 or email her at susan_sanborn@toyota.com

Best regards and we hope to see you and your cruisers there to celebrate this anniversary.

Respectfully Submitted,

Mark Watkins
TLCA L.A. County/Trail Crew
TLCA So Cal Cruisers

I should be going, but I'm not sure if I'll be taking my FJ60(it's running a little rough...need to do some things to it as I bought it about three weeks ago).

What gives?

The TLCA website site shows this event taking place elsewhere in Torrance. Which is the correct address?

nice pics. my dad also liked the 200 (he's not a cruiser guy, so maybe this will turn him, btw, you can see him checking it out in one of your early pics, he's wearing a red shirt).

did anyone ever figure out what the mgs were doing there?

Great pictures!

Beautiful vehicles. Is that museum open to regular schmoes just driving by and whom want to stop in?

Actually, it is open to the public but you have to call and make an appointment. It's worth it, trust me! I'll post some pics up soon of some of the beautiful vehicles they had in there.

Wow. It looks like I missed a bunch of folks and rigs. When I went into the museum, only a few rigs were in the lot. When I came out, there were a few more, but the lot was not full. I should've come outside earlier!!

I missed a great opportunity to meet a bunch of you.

BTW: What was the deal with the MG's / Triumph's.

Hmmm - Intern isn't even close to Brent.

Not prepared myself for SnT. Forgot to pull the second row seats out Sunday afternoon to put in the storage drawer. Wednesday evening is going to be busy as Thursday and Friday will be working late to close the books and I have Red Cross tonight so no heavy lifting after I get home!

We shoulda invited the Toyota people to SNT, as there's gonna be a WAY BIGGER turnout of Toys there than made the 50th. Still, it was good to see some faces there I hadn't seen for a LONG time, like Ed Bailey from So Cal.

The peanut gallery had some good fun during the 200 presentation. Just ask Biscuit.

I tried talking Susan Sanborn from the Toyota Museum into having some people from Toyota make it to S&T but she said that with their many other 50th events going on they could not make it. I told her they were really going to miss out on a great Toyota related event...
