This is a great opportunity for a lot of people out there to get in on an epic event. I wish I could go, but time and money is short at the moment. I'd need time, and an extra $5000 to get my FJ where I'd like it to be to go on this event.

Be Prepared - The old Scout Motto directly applies to Expedition wheeling folks. Bring it, even if you aren't sure you'll need it. When you want it you don't have it otherwise.

Ugh, this really sucks.
I'll be in Europe during SnT, and getting back the day you guys leave . I can't believe this. Oh well, my FJC is still stock with Rock rails and Bud Builts, maybe it's not worthy yet :^ (
Had a great with you guys at the FJ45Run last year (have you ever seen Gustaf jump a 8' mud pit before ;^ ), and I'm sure this is going to be spectacular.

WoooooHoooo! I'm in! This is gonna be great. I just spent the last month and a half re-doing my entire suspension and steering and she is all dialed in. She drives better now than anytime in the 3-1/2 years I've had her. Now with this new trailer coming and a grand adventure to partake in, I'm all smiles!

Might be a silly question but one post says you are getting a block of rooms set aside, one says reserved. I know I have to pay for the room but should we call and reserve our own digs? Or just show up and claim and pay when I get there? Thanks

my understanding is there is one 36" ledge on the trail system...it may take some creativity to get the trailer down, but I'm quite sure we've got the tools available....

The fun part will be seeing if you can do it without assistance from other rigs, so you are prepared the next time

36" doesn't sound to bad. I guess if it looks real ugly, we stack some rocks and turn it into more of a ramp.

Registration has been closed!

Registration has been closed!

Due to overwhelming commitment (that only a wife would want you to understand) we have closed registration. As I said in the beginning this was gong to be a small group and we'll keep it that way. we got 10 trucks and while I was out to lunch (figuratively and literally) 1 more slipped in making it 11 trucks. still wanna go? ah man what this? there are three things you can do!

A: Have a medical doctorates degree practicing medicine

B: Bug somebody already going to let you ride shot gun, there are a few that wouldn't mind company.

C: Bug Toyota to "Play it again Sam" and convince them to do this type of thing again... I already have the next trail picked out!

www.fjtrailteams.com and keep clicking around until you find "contact".

Thank you for your interest,

-Gustaf

Cool SWAG!

Schwag!

Ah, what is a expedition put on by the Trail teams themselves going to give out??? Well, you can bet your raffle tickets you'll be getting some smooth stuff! Already commited are companies like:

- Toyota's own FJCTT, that's us! think your missing some bit of swag, not after this event!

- Engel Fridges/Freezers - even for chilly expeditions, ya need to keep your food fresh!!

- METALTECH!! ...just got off the phone with Mark and they're sending something big!

- IronPig the guys from the muddy cauldron of steel have sent some very nice things!

- A Personal ECFJCTT gift that required me tracking it down to Bangkok Thailand. all I will tell you is, it doesn't tell time, but is "well read", some of the Toyota execs will get this as well!

- IH8MUD ...after putting the squeeze something fierce on that stingy "Woody" we got him to cough up something... medic! do we have a medic?!?

- Winchline.com - cause despite our best efforts, we MAY need some recovery gear!

- Tuffy Products - not sure about you, but expeditions mean storage...lots...

Others to follow...

-Gustaf

Woody,
Thanks for the invite to ride biotch a few days back. I have to attend a business event Saturday the 10th that I can't miss. I signed on to that some time back and it didn't show up on my radar when we spoke. I am bummed to say the least. I was pretty pumped for the drive out and to wheel with this crew.

This business thing keeps getting in my way!

Have a great trip and I hope I can hit toys for tots and wheel a bit then.

All the best and thanks again!
Goebs

I'm trying to talk my buddy GeoRoss into blowing off life for a week to ride shotgun with me. If that doesn't pan out, I wouldn't mind some company. I'll let people know when he makes a decision. (no pressure Ross, this will just be the coolest thing we've done all year)

Still need to sew up some details, but it looks like I'm in. Fly into DEN, ride with Devo. Catch a ride back to DEN on Sat with Hawk or Wagonner.

Wow, I'm psyched.

I checked the temps for Gateway CO. this is for the week of the 4th thru the 10th

AVG Hi low 50's
AVG Lo low 20's
Record Hi 70
Record Lo 10

It will be colder in the wilderness. I don't know how many of you have experience camping in the cold, so here is my recomendation.

Your tent should be a 3 or 4 season tent with little mesh. (not a summer tent)
zero degree sleeping bags (this will be important)
a good pad under your sleeping bag to insulate from the ground.
long underwear
fleece jacket/pants (or down)
some kind of windbreak jacket/pants
rain gear
warm hat (beanie)
warm gloves
warm socks
Carb rich food for dinner will help you stay warm at night.

Think in terms of layers for your clothing so you can be comfortable no matter the Hi or Lo.

Thanks for the info. Never camped in winter. I figured on dressing warm and having the right bag also. I will be there for dinner too Gustaf.
