I guess I should say hello as well. I am Chattfj40's brother, and will also be flying into Anchorage on the 10th, and flying out whenever(most likely the 20th, but might stay in Anchorage a few days longer). I'll also be traveling very light as my gear will be driving up with the trucks.

I cannot wait.

Howdy!

My wife just asked an interesting question, how many women are taking the trip?? So far I think it's just her and Medicbob's daughter?

We are getting very excited. I made what I hope is the final order from Cabelas.

My bumpers are almost done (hanging in the garage with paint drying) and I just have to rig up the shower, compressor and do some PM on both axles. Oh, and install the heavy spring for the Dakkars... And order and install the fridge

I thought I was closer to being ready...

we can't wait to meet you all.

any news on MW

I won't know if I have room for a rider from Anchorage to Tok for another week or so. I have been loading some things up and wow! I am taking too much I think. Anyway, yes my daughter (Selina) is going. She'll be happy to see another lady type going. Any contact from Mark? My check hasn't been cashed yet. I am assuming that ACT 08 is still on.. I am going to Alaska regardless now. I have a motel in Tok for the night of the 10th and 11th. So if anyone is without a room, a shower would be available for anyone wanting one. I am leaving way early.. June 20th and hitting the sights on the way up.

Well, like Medicbob said, we are going regardless, I have the time booked off with work!!

We won't have room unless you want to lie down in the back with the gear...not to comfortable.

I have been at Marks shop the last 2 days. He has been extremely busy the last few weeks and hasn't been on the net in awhile. YES the Trek is still a go. I will talk with him tomorrow and get him to post up.
We were actually coming up with a priority list of repairs and maintenance required to get all of his rigs ready for the Trek. He may have as many as 3 of his own rigs on the trail. His big tan 40, His wife Melanie will be driving her sprung over 62, and if necessary he will have 1 of his Yota pickups as a support rig carrying extra fuel and gear.
On top of this he still has customer rigs to work on, including a rig that needs power steering, rear disc brakes, sprung over and other stuff before the Trek because this rigs is being built to attend the Trek.

Thanks Patrick for the update. I would love to drive all-terrains up there. (8000 miles round-trip). Got any buddies that might be interested in renting a set of swampers for the trek? Yeh Yeh I know....

I dont have any swampers. You could bring up a set of 38.5x15x15 Boggers for my 40 , use em for the Trek and put your all-terrains back on for the drive home just an option. I really dont think you will need to have swampers up here for the Trek put some MTR's on MT's on your rig and call it good.

Mark mentioned he will post up tonight or tomorrow night at the latest.

My goal was to keep my daughter away from boys this summer Sorry I couldn't resist. Just checked your profile. (age). If the timing is right I will definately give you a shout. Who knows I can be a grandfather figure for you. But not for Selina!

Haha no worries. There'll be 2 of us in the 19 year range.
Just offering you help or a place to wash up if you're on the road.

Driving her all the way there!
I've taken her out a few times on trips exceeding 400 miles a day to make sure she is fit.
Its going to be a tiring trip up.

Are you camping on the way up or moteling it? I'd be interested in your thoughts on camp locations or a web site showing locations on the way up. I will definately be going through Calgary on the way. It's crunch time for me. Leave in 4 weeks. I need to stop by Slee's on the way up and get some 4inch heavies on the rear. The mediums I have is not hacking it with this load. I would feel alot better about this trip if Mark would chime in and update us..

x2 on mark.

We are also camping on the way up. We picked up an 08 copy of he Milepost. It lists a lot of good spots and is worth the $30. We got ours online at 2008 Milepost: MCCMagazines Store

I just finished rebuilding front and rear axles and got my OME add-a-leaf for extra heavy in. Made a big difference on this weekends outing. The tire carrier also worked great but I still need to address fuel storage/rack, install the OB shower and the fridge...
