I am so damn excited I can hardly contain myself. A big thanks to Clutchee for handling my logistics. See you all soon.

Happy travels!

If anyone travelling from AK through FSJ happens to have extra room for a bottle (or more) of 3 Blind Moose Pinot Grigio and/or Chardonnay s/he will be handsomly rewarded for their troubles.

3 Blind Moose - wine - pinot grigio

It sounds like all of you coming up the ALCAN will be staying the night in Tok so you'll find eachother by Friday evening. The Alaska Cruiser Crew will be driving up from Anchorage/Palmer/Wasilla area on Friday. I'll cruise into Tok Friday evening and track ya'll down, see if you have any needs before we hit the trail. Keep our phone numbers handy in case you need repair parts or whatever from Anchorage on Friday.

Well, here are some pics from the spring adjustments we had to do on my rear end tuesday afternoon...after it was mostly loaded. We added and 2.5" lift OME add-a-leaf that was designed for the front when carrying a heavy winch/bumper...Thanks to Bob a TPI for helping us out!

At this point, I still have no idea what springs those are. When I bought them, I was told they were flipped/drilled 40 springs that came as a part of the SOA in a box that I got from Rascal. But these measure 2.75" wide, 45.5 eye to eye, and they're offset, so not 55 rears...They are aftermarket, but not sure whose??

As you can see, the first pics demonstrate that the springs that started out flat, had inverted. Then a few pics of the spring off and then with the new leaf, they sit just about where they were with the cruiser empty.

And Finally...almost fully loaded...minus the fuel...For those paying attention earlier, the small ARB is riding in the big truck up to Tok, and we'll move it to my Cruiser there...

See ya'll soon!!

Oh yeah...forgot to mention that on the warmup run a couple weeks ago, my rear ARB locked and wouldn't unlock...pulled the diff and figured out the ARB side gear had lost a tooth and taken out chunks of the pinion...hence the new diff cover and a new ARB from the fine folks at Iron Pig, as well as a new R&P from Randy's...I'm in debt even before buying all the diesel...oh well, such is life

To all who are traveling to Alaska over the next few days:
Have fun...

Tread lightly...

In other words: "keep off the grass"!

Watch out for the other guys

Don't worry about the price of fuel

Watch out for the bears

And last but not least...save energy...capture excess gas and recycle!

Drove from FSJ to Hinton and back again this weekend. Always have thought that the Grande Cache area would be a nice place to live.

If you think Canadians talk funny wait 'til you hear Whatley. Mind you, being an Amer'can chances are you talk funny as well. Never in all the Tech Exchanges read did I 'picture' him sounding the way he does. Couldn't stop staring at him whenever he spoke for the better part of last summers' adventure

Hello,

Who was in Idaho Falls at a hotel last Sunday the 28th.

They had an 80 series all decked out on the way to Alaska. Sunroof had a Ghetto duck tape repair on it. My buddy was in the same hotel and called to tell me how cool your cruiser was and that mine still need a lot more work. I bet him that i could find out who it was!

Well I got the last of the items on the work list done today, except for the hair cut, barber closed for the 4 th, so I used my beard clipper and did it myself. Todd and I will be departing first thing in the morning, hope to be in Tok by the 10th.

indeed that was me. Ghetto was being kind. You won the bet. I passed Kroll and his buddy on hwy 97 an 1 1/2 from fort nelson. Talked for a few before the mosquitos chased us away. They were headed to Kyle's family house for a couple of days. I am ahead of schedule. Need to slow down and smell the roses. In Fort Nelson tonight.. rainy..Kroll and Kyle are making me feel old. Nice kids. I did crack a front windshield, hope it holds till I get home.
