Rubithon Attendees - FIRE

FYI -

There is a huge fire East of Fallen Leaf Lake. 50+ home burned. It is burning towards Tahoe Keys.

This affects those traveling south on Hwy 88 from Tahoma and Hwy 50 West.

The roads are all closed and the fire is out of control.

The fire started at 2 PM Sunday.

Anyone is welcome to call me to ask questions. 530-344-9388

I heard about that on the way home. We took HWY 80. I hope they get it under control, it's really dry up there for this time of year.

The fire is a bout 20 miles away from the trail. So there should be no problem getting out.

We went out in the morning and out 50. Now fire at that point. WE were in South Lake Tahoe by 10:30 am. After getting laoded on the trailer and heading home I saw the smoke in the hills.

we were to south lake tahoe by 10am and didn't see a fire anywhere on 88 prior to that. Must have sprung up quick, it is dry up there right now.

My buddy and I left the trail at 7pm on Saturday so I guess we just missed it. I was in my silver FJ Cruiser.

We must have just missed it also. I think we went through South Lake Tahoe and down 50 around 1:00 PM.

This fire sucks, it took 2 of my buddies homes and work equipment from another, and for the others I don't know, my prayers. I would never wish this upon anyone except my boss.
