Sweet, It makes it worth while if there are at least two days of good wheeling to be done.

Georg,

Are you guys planning on going in 88 and going out 4? Spending both nights at the first water crossing, closest to 88?

Dylan

I'll take a stab and say they are entering and exiting the 88 side.

and camping at the first water crossing towards the 88 side.

Of course during the weekend there will be wheeling....

mark is correct.

we will be coming in from the hwy 88 side. i will be towing my troopie up there again and leaving the tow rig and trailer right off hwy 88. we'll be campning at the first water crossing for two nights. then most of us will go out thru hwy 88. but some people will go out thru the 4 side.

hope that works for you guys.

please check out this thread also:

http://pirate4x4.com/forum/showthread.php?t=600847

to help keep our local trails open. i can post another link to the current trails closures. take a look in the "rubicon trail" section on pirate if you have a minute, or i can post a link.

thanks in advance guys!!!!!

Hi All,just wanted to see if anyone is going on fri,8/31.I wanted to be there early,go in from 88 &take the red lake turn off &go past lost lakes to blue lakes. Then hit the deer valley trail.
Last year we camped at the 2nd. river crossing back in the trees there.Great spots close to the river. It was last years pig run.
Then take the trail through to exit out on hwy 4.We might only stay fri. night ,not sure yet-whos going!!!!!!!!!!
Do we need permits for stoves,I am thinking no fires?
John&wife(maybe),2-kids; Gavin 7, Gabrielle 4,dog(maybe) Thats why I am taking my 80!!!!!! Any other 80's going????

I am spending Friday night at my grandmothers in Nevada City / Grass Valley area. Any of you know the best way to get to Deer Valley from there? Or is any one coming from there on Saturday? Finding your way at night is not a fun time...I would like to get there in the day, but that might not work out for me.

BTW is there a set CB channel for the trip that way I could call some one up and you guys could talk me in once I get close?

Matthew

couple of items i'd like to mention:

1) whoever gets there early, please make sure that i get the same camp site as last year. it worked out really well for the raffle. it's not the greatest site there so no worries guys......

2) please try to bring a small raffle prize. the more prizes we have, the more fun it'll be.

3) bring a little bit of cash for the cash raffle. tickets are $10 each. all the money goes in the pot and one winning ticket will be drawn. last year's pot was $700!

4) i'm also trying to help raise money for the FOTR to help keep our trails open. i have already donated $150 and would like our event to be able to help out. the jeepers jamboree had 1500 attendees this year. they raised $1 per person. pathetic! i know we can beat that average by a mile!

thanks in advance, i'll see you guys in less than two weeks!

Georg,

We will save your spot for you. Also how about you do a 50/50 raffle instead. Half goes to the winner and half goes to the FOTR. Thoughts?

Tony,

I wasn't thinking.. If I head up Friday night I'm going in the 88 side.. Don't want to chance it at night

If I go saturday morning I'd be willing to do the 4 side..

I'm kinda leaning towards friday night though..
