Thank you!
Thanks again for all of the support and to those that became Charter Subscribers. The second issue is nearly finished and includes expeditions in Mongolia, South America, Utah, etc.
This issue also features the introduction of our FJ40 and FJ60 Land Cruiser builds.
Just an FYI, but the Charter Subscriber program ends in three days. This will be the last chance to get the hat, decal and the Premier Issue.
Thanks again for supporting our independent publication.

Done!
And Thank You for your dedication (via research, experience, write-ups, etc.). Hope you'll be able to remain a part of Toyota 4WD's magazine as well.

Dave and I are good friends and I really enjoy writing for 4WDTO. We have several new articles coming that way. I love the "go fast" and trail stuff too, so 4WDTO is perfect for those adventures.

Do the hat and decal ship seperately from the issue?
I just got my plastic wrapped issue mailed to me yesterday but not the other fun stuff yet...

It is at the printer and in the final stages. There was a slight delay because of a new, heavy duty cover we are applying, which has a laminate for durability and increased cover quality/weight.
Of course, when you actually get it in the mail is at the mercy of the USPS. Everyone in Utah, Colorado and Nevada will probably get it next week, and those in Alaska will see it by early 2008... :(

You left out the part where the USPS does their best to defeat the packaging and protection measures by running over the magazine a few times with their mail trucks. I rarely get a magazine through the USPS that hasn't been damaged or ripped during mailing.

We are trying USPS countermeasures, like a poly bag and scratch insert. We are also adding a laminate to the cover of the Journal that will be waterproof, scratch resistant and UV coated for fade resistance. I am curious what you all think of it when you get it.
It adds a lot of cost, but we think the Journal needs to be durable for use/reading in the field.

Summer issue should be hitting UT, CO and NV today, with CA and the rest of the Pacific Coast by weeks end.
Those of you who are charter subscribers, it will be a few days after the above estimate, as the package includes your hat and decal.
Thank you again to all who subscribed and support the Journal. We are doing well and the publication has already added pages to 108 total.
In addition, for those that subscribed, if you wouldn't mind completing our subscriber survey (anonymous), you can do it here: http://www.overlandjournal.com/survey.php
The survey will help ensure that the content continues in the direction of your interests.

I got mine yesterday. Packaging seems fine to me, I don't think I really care unless the whole front page is missing.
I liked the fridge test and the SW Utah exp.
I was a little disappointed that there we no real inside pics or detail pics of the xv-jp. Just the usual fluff poser shots
Overall, still top notch.

Sorry, but the charter subscriber offer with the hat and decal has expired. We should hopefully have some hats for sale on the website within a couple of weeks though. You can purchase back issues HERE or HERE
Thanks for your interest, I hope you will still subscribe

Just got the current issue (and hat and charter sticker ) today. Wow. That's all I've got. Even the cover was impressive with the gloss photo and matte border.
One comment, the font in this issue seems a little small - and I'm not an old fart with reading glass. Maybe just a point or two small. Just my .02
Outstanding work. My wife's been working an upstart magazine and I know from her what it takes to get them out. You guys are doing awesome.
