Looking for trails near St. George, UT

So my friend moved to St. George not long ago. We have both done some driving in Moab area but nothing in the Western part of the state. He has a stock GMC Yukon and I have my '95 Cruiser, stock with just the CDL. Neither of us is afraid to wheel our trucks, but we recognize they have limitations. We've been through Elephant hill, Whiterim trail, stuff like that with no problems. We'd like to take the fam out for some 2-4 day trips in the St. George area next year, or even use his house as a base camp and do some day trips from there. Can anyone make suggestions, along with some way for me to locate the area on a map / internet site? I know there are a ton of trails down there, I just don't know which ones are any good.

good = fun to wheel, maybe some day hikes, camping, good scenery.

I like to avoid crowds, but will deal with them if necessary to have some fun. Post up some ideas! Thanks.

Get some guides for the North Rim of the Grand Canyon (aka the Arizona Strip), south of St George.

Edit: This is the book have http://books.compricer.com/0910856656 Holy smokes, $78!!

There are loads of interesting things. Not much hard wheeling though. Mainly dirt roads and two-track I am not from the area at all, but have been out there a few times.

That looks like a really cool area. I'll have to check it out and ask him. Thanks!
