LOL, glad I was able to be some small influence to keep you away from Jeeps.
Not sure what the other picture was of my wife that you were talking about. It could be one on Fins & Things. I'll have to look through my old pics and see if I can find it.

Adam,
If I remember right it was a Moab pic and she was driving the Money Pit up a pretty steep step. Can't remember if it was a full on side shot or 3/4 rear type view of the step. I remember that it was on of those pics that you actually felt the steepness of the obstacle which pics so rarely represent. I remember thinking "Damn that truck is sick. I need to find one."
It was on Pirate, before I ever knew about IH8MUD. It's funny as I think back now, seeing those two pics and one of Wolf359 in a river in Alaska were one of those defining moments in my life. I had my heart set on buying and building a Cherokee until I saw those pictures. The angels sang that day...lol.

Dang man, I gotta gain some weight or something. If you have thought that was my wife this whole time, then I'm a freakin pansie. That's me driving and Trunk Monkey (100 series section moderator) riding shotgun.

Oh and that is not Moab. That trail is called Cat Canyon is western Utah near Delta. Very cool trail. Storm washed it out a couple years ago and now it's even better. There was a crazy line that not many took because there was a decent bypass that was still a bit of a challenge. The bypass is totally gone now leaving only the crazy line. I haven't been out there since that happened and I'm not sure my 80 would fare so well.

Great read, were you the guy on pirates years ago with a picture of your garage with a view of a valley?
All I remember was the cabinets were nicer than the ones in my kitchen.

Did you get the chain loops at the trailer supply?

If you're talking about the ones on the tongue for the safety chains, then yes I did. Used the same ones for all my tie-downs inside the tub.

Do they have an on line store? Your trailer build has inspired me to start my own build. I started a post (Camping Gear/Utility Trailer)on Expo since I don't own a Toyota I didn't think it would be right to put it here.

You can try this......
State Trailer Supply - RV & Outdoor Supply
Not sure if they'll list the chain loops or not, but you can always call and ask them. Your local trailer supply place ought to have them too.

So my last trip with the trailer had me on high-speed gravel roads for ~60 miles. It took its toll on the front half of the fenders. Lots of rock chips. Not a big deal, and I expected it but now I want to do something about it. I still have some raptor liner left over and I could just spray the fenders, but I don't know if I want to go with black fenders.
The other option I'm considering is to pick up some aluminum treadplate and cut it to fit the front half of the fenders and rivet it in place. I might also add just a bit on the front corners of the tub. Most of the front is well protected with the water cans, but the corners catch a stray rock from time to time.
Or I could just repaint the fenders white again.
Opinions?

Don't you have "inspection flaps" for the 80?

Adam,
Where did you get the steel to build your trailer? Was it in Salt Lake or up north?
