my new Conqueror Conquest arrived :)

Aloha all
posted this over on Expedition portal also

but thought I would do it here as I have been enjoying the site a ton

I moved to the mainland a bit ago from the islands and want to get into some more extended and backroads etc... camping since I am here on this huge chunk of land

but I did not want to load up the car so full of stuff and be comfortable and have the wife and kids comfy also

so my hunt for the trailer started
wife and 1 kid with another coming the end of the year I wanted it to hold the family
Small enough for garage and easy towing in tight areas (had to be narrower than my rig)
a RTT that was king size
the RTT had to have a room off it for changing letting kids nap in a cot etc..
wanted a large awning for daily living under the sun
wanted to get into rig without tilting the top to access stuff
had to be large enough storage to bring some comfort stuff
tough enough to go offroad and hold up without a ton of maintenance

started looking at the stuff from OZ and SA (South Africa) and fell in love with so many designs
almost all of the stuff they have is very cool and well thought out and tough !! but trying to get the stuff in the US or find them here converted is not easy so kinda moved on with the thought if a unit that I wanted ever came up I would go for it

then the thread came up with the basecamp trailers on Expedition portal and was discussed here and got ahold of the guy who was selling them and they had the conqueror which was funny as it was the one trailer I first fell in love with and wanted to find in the US so I was stoked to pick one up for a great price and fits everything I wanted in a trailer at this point

My reasons I wanted this one and so stoked I got it
Mega used to make military trailers and the stuff is proven the SA also think they make some of the toughest trailers they also have a proven track record etc..
even the OZ import mega stuff and that says something !

anyway just sharing my thoughts and as I move forward doing a few things with this will post up some pics etc..

going to make a slide for the side to hold the stove and wash bin etc..
and just a few custom things inside
also the large 22 foot octagon awning it has (not up in the pics) is going to get walls all around it in panels so I can put up what I want

so here it is in our drive about a hour after it came off the truck had to pop it up to check it out

and yes the truck is in for some mods also

also a super cool video I found of the trailers in action in SA
the smaller one they show in this vid the guy has like 10 or so left and for about $8000 or under they are hard to beat for the price
if anyone is curious PM me I can give you the guys email

its bigger but not as big as it looks in pics
about a foot longer than a chaser and about foot wider body and about 6 inches taller
full track width outside of tires is only 67.7 inches
I would say its a midsize hehehehehe

Kingbee its nice to be hated in such a good way

thanks LX450

they dont have this size anymore just the one that looks like this but a bit shorter

yup on the blue and expo I posted I am so excited hope to get my plate in a few days so I can get it up to some lakes or something and will of course take more pics etc..

smaller Compact Model is like this
American Mobile Responders - Mobile Medical Unit

without the medical stickers
also you can see the smaller one in that vid on the first post they are kinda cool

mine was just under 9K

the smaller ones are somewhere under 8K I forgot what he offered me the smaller one for as I wanted the king bed the smaller ones have a queen bed up top but with our kids wanted them up
the side tent has more room than I thought so we might put a cot down low for naptime

shipping was $1000 from the east coast to PHX AZ where I am at

Larry the guy to contact if anyone was curious is on that link

you can let em know Chad sent ya I dont get squat or anything so ya dont have to hehehe

I am going to do a few things to mine the side that has the wine bottles ? ??? gone going to put in a place for toiletries type stuff and medical stuff since thats the side inside the tent
the other side going to redo the kitchen a bit

deciding on a 60 or 60 combi or 80 fridge and might put a shelf inside

funny I keep going out to the garage and playing with the thing hehehehe
