Machine new hubs or replace flanges?
Well, my plan to redrill holes into the existing flanges to match the oddball 5x150mm bolt pattern of the 100 series isn't going to work, I don't have enough flange to redrill the pattern. So here are my options:
1. Use spacers, which I don't want to do. 2. Have custom hubs machined ($$$!) 3. Have a machine shop add a bigger diameter flange to the hub Thoughts? I *really* want to avoid spacers to avoid having to widen the already custom fenders. __________________ 1999 UZJ100 "the Watermelon" |

If I'm correct, 150mm is just under 6 inches. This 5x5.5 hub looks to have enough flange to get the 5x150mm that you need.

I am taking it you couldn't source out a "blank" hub? bummer. Honestly, I think that spacers and widening your fenders would come in WELL under having to have custom hubs turned... even then if something goes wrong you will have to address it with more custom machining. I would keep it simple, add spaces and extend the fenders just a bit more. Sorry man, I would have never guessed you'd have this much trouble with the wheels on your rig/trailer combo. Looking forward to the pics!

I would think utilizing wheel spacers would give the trailer a wider stance thus making it more more stable on rough trails, which is what I would want. Cheaper too.

Guys, so let me explain a bit why I am avoiding spacers. I have a custom axle that's the exact width of the truck's rear axle. I also have custom fenders on the trailer, designed specifically for the width of the axle and wheels. If I go with spacers, it's not just the cost of the spacers, I'll have to widen the fenders (read: steel fabrication + tube bending) too. I would really like to avoid that, hence my inclination towards custom flanges.
*Nothing* on the 100 project has been easy so far, but its moving along and I think the end result will be worth it. __________________ 1999 UZJ100 "the Watermelon" |

The way my fenders were designed, I pretty much I have to re-do them...trying to avoid that. __________________ 1999 UZJ100 "the Watermelon" |

Shorten the trailer axle, and run spacers?
It could be a lot simpler to take some length out, and sleeve the axle than to have custom hubs made. I work in a machine shop, and I would still avoid making hubs for myself for free if I was in your position. __________________ Bailey Quintrell '74 FJ40--37 Irocks-32 Bolt 'Locks-SM420-ARB-XD9000i-FJ60 PS-MetalTech Cage '93 FZJ80-DD-Part Time 4wd-locked-5" lifted-snorkel-bullbar-315 AT's '97 FZJ80 '98 UZJ100-OEM RR locker ΣΧ
