here is a pic of the work so far.
Things are looking good, but I do have one suggestion although it may be either too late or not your style. I would move the tire mount up higher so that when the back of the tow rig goes up and the back of the trailer goes down the spare tire doesn't come into contact with the ground. I'd hate to see the tire hitting the ground and trying to tear away from the trailer in such a situation. Maybe I'm being overly cautious in my thinking, but I try to minimize damage from such situations.

Keep the good work and the nice pictures comming.

Mike - I appreciate the imput and you have a very valid point, but you are correct it is to late to make any major changes. I can probably get it another 1"-1.5" higher and that is it.

I thought about the tire being to low but my concern was it hanging up on ledges. But then I thought to myself "honestly it will probably never see Moab. Most of it's life will be spent hauling camping and hunting gear on somewhat maintained roads"

It has been awhile since I posted any updates on the trailer build. So I thought I would post up a few pictures of the trailer. It is a little dirty and not 100% complete but close

I just thought I would post an update on the trailer. The Wife and I just got back from Colorado where we pulled the trailer up part of the Alpine loop before parking it and camping. this is about as close to an action photo as I have

The trailer pulled great and handled everything we threw at it, including a couple small stream crossings, lots of wash board roads and even a cattle drive
