What do you think of this M416

I have the chance to pick up this M416 from a local guy for $450. He said the title states homebuilt, but I'm pretty sure I can register it later myself. I'm not too familiar with the condition these are normally in, so please let me know what you guys thing of this one's condition: cstamm : photos : Trailer- powered by SmugMug
Thanks in adavance.

The price is relative to what you're willing to pay and what the going rate is for the M416s in your area.

I don't think the condition is too bad. The nice thing about the 416s is that the box can come off the frame and you can fix it up pretty well. Unless there's some serious dmage that you can't repair, I'd say go for it and have some fun.

Looking at this same one and if it was 200 miles closer would be in my garage tonight!!!, I think it can be repaired without too many problems

Agreed, that is about the average condition for one of the m416's, but the price is a bit lower then what I have seen several go for in the past year or two. I would jump on it, knowing it is going to need some good TLC to get up to snuff... or just buy it and use the poo out of it!

I will,, after seeing your work all this time has me really motivated to do this. I need to aquire some metal and a pintle assembly off a canadian 101 as I really liked having the pintle on the 416. I think I'll be bringing the welder home from work more often this winter, or whats left of the winter..
Thanks,
Steve

Just so happens I took delivery of my M101 a coupla days ago and I'm strippin' 'er down sir.

I don't need the entire tongue/pintle hook thangy, fenders, axle, three tires/wheels. Ev'rythang's in damn-fine shape ... just replacin' with custom parts.

I'm in NE Texas but I'll be drivin' my Trusty Ol' Comp'ny truck to Baltimore next week and can deliver there.

I can post pics and more info if int'rested.

Make me an honest offer and let's make a deal.
