Lowering my expedition trailer...
I built my expedition trailer to match my SOA FJ62, but now I'm going to be towing it with a UZJ100 and even after the lift and tires, the height is off. To help correct this, I replaced the extended shackles I installed back in 1996 with a shorter set from Rough Country.
It was a half-banana job and the end result is the trailer sitting 2.25" lower. I expect another 1" reduction from the change in tire size, and then I'll play it by ear. My goal is to have the trailer to ride as even as possible with the loaded 100. Here are a handful of pictures. If anyone wants the extended shackles I took off (Daystar), I'll take $20 and you pay shipping, an easy way to lift an M100 or M416 without having to go SOA. You can see the size difference between the two sets of shackles, and a close-up of the new shorter shackles installed. __________________ 1999 UZJ100 "the Watermelon" 2003 UZJ100 "the Hippo" |

![]() It is easy bro, just take every minute of your day thinking through designing every aspect of a trailer, then take every spare penny and put it towards stuff that you think you need to build it, then take every weekend you would use to wheel, hangout with family and friends, and work in your cold garage... for months and you get close! ![]() I am having a blast! __________________ Drew F.
