Pintle hooks

I purchased a 5 ton pintle hook today. I dont have my m416 yet but will be picking it up soon. I read somwhere that a guy had trouble with a 5 ton hook and the size of the lunette on an m416. The problem was it was too small for the ring diameter and tended to bind.

Anyone have experience with this. ? I want to replace the 5 toner with a larger model if need be before I mount it up.

Thanks,

Ken

Thanks

Thanks Roberto. I had posted on another site as well and looks like I need to step it up a bit for the best fit.

Thanks for the response.

When I picked up our Cdn M101, I took a 5 ton pintle hook with me. The fit was really nice and I thought I had the perfect set-up.

As soon as I had to take some shar turns the hook and pintle ring would bind something fierce and make a very loud "BANG". I tried to grind more clearance into teh hook, but eventually went and bought a larger hook. No worries now. You need some play/clearance between the parts to avod the binding issue.

Good luck.

Ken,

Just put my M416 on the road. I purchased a 5 ton Buyers pintle hook and have had no issues with binding or limited articulation. It easliy accepts the M416 lunnette ring. Go for it!!
