Does the LX450 have those 4 bolt holes on the bumper behind the plastic?

I see you pulled up the other thread.... I like my bumper mounted pintle. Unfortunately I could not get it to fit with the receiver, it bumps into it. So the receiver came off.

My only trailer is the M101, so I didn't care. It is considered(bumper) to be a 3500 # attachment. A military trailer is only 750 # loaded max 2000 #.

Cheers, BB

I removed the Valley tow hitch and the LX450 plastic on the rear bumper to access the factory pintle mount holes.

I mounted the pintle directly to the bumper and gained a few inches of hitch height, and a few more inches of clearance with the tow hitch removed.

Measurement from the ground up...

I went to bolt up my 2" spacers today and found out that the included studs/nuts were 14 x 1.5, and I need 12 x 1.5.

After a run to Checker, AutoZone, and Napa - I managed to pick up 12 correct studs and nuts. (why they each only stock like 3-4..I'll never know.)

I fixed that issue and bolted them up - perfect clearance and not too far out:

Guess he will never have to worry about rolling the trailer with all that weight

have you thought about running electric brakes with those size tired on your rig and trailer id imagine it would be like a freight train on the loose to stop let alone off road

I really haven't had any issues with brakes after the big wheels were installed.

I replaced the front and rear pads after I changed the wheels, so I'm sure I'll go through pads quicker - but thats really to be expected since I didn't upgrade to larger brakes.

I was figuring the extra weight would help out to keep the trailer from going belly up...as will the 4" of wheel spacers and extra few inches of tire adding to the overall width.

I really like what you've done with the trailer. Can't wait to see more.

FINALLY!

I won a set of 4 LX450 rims and center caps on ebay after tons of attempts and deals that fell apart for various reasons.

The best part, I got the whole set for $147 shipped!

As soon as they arrive I can get the wheels mounted up and move forward with my fender and trailer lid projects.

Looking good man, You should look into integrating a hitch into the rear bumper where the 4 bolt holes are then you could use the hitch plate again for a few more inches? although id imagine once the trailers fully loaded it will bring the ride hight down to about where it should be?

Yeah, loaded down the trailer will be about level.

I really don't want to have an adaptor plate for added height off the pintle bolt area, since I know I'll forget that is there and drop the tailgate down on it for some wonderful destruction.

Well, it floats...lol.

I've finally figured out how to get mud all over the back of the truck...

But now I have to figure out how to get mud on the back of the trailer!

Yup, as soon as I have the fenders and lid done I can do the bedliner on the trailer to match the truck.
