Found a good use for the 60 OEM roof rack

I will use it to tie down bikes or the likes. It's surprisingly sturdy....
That 60 OEM roof rack is not good for much else...

The top is a bit unusual. My father in law bought himself a new ATV. It was created in a metal cage. By coincidence one of the sides of the create was EXACTLY the length of the trailer. I just had to widen it by a inch. Those ATV crate frames are lightweight and quite sturdy. So the frame was basically already made.
The ATV dealers just throw this stuff away, they where happy to give it to me

The top is just some body sheet metal.
I went to a body shop and asked if they could sell me some. The body shops buy sheet metal that is 4 feet wide by 8 feet long (ca. $60) 4 feet is the exact with of the trailer (yeah!). So I just cut it in length.
I'm not a good welder so I just riveted the sheet metal on the frame. (I put some silicone between the top and the frame to seal it off)
My next step is to make some hinges. (right now I have to lift the top off)

I will try to take some photos today.
