Cool Two Week Wonder

Hi All,

This is the rebuild of my M416. I am calling it the "Two Week Wonder" because I only had 2 weeks to get this done. Yes, I did get it finished in that amount of time. I am sorry that I wasn't able to get anything posted while I did the work. I was doing the work at my Dad's place and did not have the time. So here it goes!

The first photo is what my trailer looked like when I bought it.

The second and third photos are the beginning of the disassembly of the trailer at my Dad's house.

1. The fenders are off.

2. The tub is off. This trailer comes apart easily.

3. This is what I was worried about. The scale is no to bad and nothing is rusted through. This is why I am doing this.

1 & 2. The lunette.

3. The draw bar bracket, the lower hole for the lunette has been heavily painted. So, I'll have the sandblaster clean it out.

1. The draw bar arms and bracket are now off.

2. I decided to put the lunette back in the draw bar bracket, so that the upper hole would not get sandblasted.

3. The landing leg, landing leg pivot bracket and the parking brake bellcrank.

I got everything back from the sandblaster and it looked good. I got the axle painted before I remember to take some photos.

The sandblaster had me duct tape the areas that I did not want to get sandblasted. That is why there is duct tape on the spindles.

Everything is nice and clean now!

1 & 2. A couple of shots of the brake backing plates. I used the flash in the second photo and it washed out some of the detail.

3. The lunette, landing leg and the ball hitch adapter.

I had taken the tub right from the sandblaster to the Line-X shop to get it lined. I know some of you would have recommended that I do a Herculiner liner to save some money. But doing it this way, saved me a lot of time and the color turned out great.

I ran into a little trouble here. The Line-X shop damaged the tabs for one of the drains. So, I had to wait to get this repaired before I could paint the tub.
