| I would be reluctant to have a real-time connection between the trailer fuel tank and the truck that transfers fuel while running. It might be wise to consider an ignition protected fuel transfer pump and a hose (either a coupler or transfer into the truck fuel pipe). This way you can simply stop, connect the hose into the truck tank, and refill at the flip of a switch.
Having fuel pumped from the trailer while driving is an invitation to trouble -- in the event of a tralier roll over or disconnect, will the pump automatically sense that the hose is disconnected? How will the pump know when the truck fuel tank is full? If it cannot be made to stop pumping when the tank is full, it will overflow while driving. Fumes are not good. Other risks include leakage, sparks from random mechanical sources, not to mention fuel fumes around a bunch or funky trailer wiring in the rear bumper and in the trailer itself. I believe you should re-think this idea.
