Where do you buy your steel?

I live in fort worth tx and there are many scrap metal yards. Do these places typically sell to the public as well, or are they just in the business of recycling?

Also, what type of shop would you go to get steel cut? I was thinking of getting some CAD drawings together and bringing them to a CNC shop, but dont know what type of place to look for...

Thanks.

I get my metal from www.metalexpress. They seem to be good to deal with and will cut to order. No minimums either. Another good place to get metal is www.onlinemetals.com.

One advantage to living in the oilfield. I can buy almost anything and have it sheared, pressed, rolled, punced, or water jet cut by about 15 different places within a few minutes of here. Prices do vary wildly according to what I don't know. A simple phone call is a great investment around here.
