Truck Work Day

Saturday Feb.2 we are going to remove the Transmission, clutch, transfere case, rear tires and brake drums on the SFWDA 5 ton dump. We will schedule another weekend to put it all back together after I get the T-case fixed and the other parts. We will need several people to help.

Roger,
I checked with the boss and she does not have anything scheduled for the 2nd, so I am in (with appropriate caveats). If you don't mind, I will check with a couple of guys from work (Jeep & LR drivers) that may be interested in helping too.

Roger,
What time do you want to get started on Saturday? Do you have all the tools and supplies that are needed or should we bring certain items? Any other requirements?

I though we would start around 9 or 10 since you all have to travel . Should have all the tools we need unless you have a big truck transmission jack, I have one that goes on a floor jack that should reach.
Roger

Nothing that massive in my tool collection. The transmission adapter that you have for your floor jack must be a lot stouter than the one I have for my floor jack, because the one I have is marginal for something small like a Cruiser tranny & would be completely over matched for a dump truck tranny.

OK - I am an idiot. I am sure this needs no qualifier but here it is anyway: My wife's birthday. I won't make it.

Guess I don't need to pick up your parts from Jonathan on Friday, I'll get them at the Monday night meeting in Nashville.

Used the power washer for about 2 hours this evening on the filthy beast, hope to get it finished tomorrow so it is ready for Saturday.

Would have much preferred to be there! Spent ALL day sitting in a hot gym watching wrestling.

Glad things went well.

Roger,
I have alternating Fridays off, so if you have parts and it looks like you would want some help on a Friday, check in case it is my off Friday and I could help.

Also, there is a business in Augusta GA that refurbishes surplus 6x6s for the civilian & foreign markets. They may also be a source for the transfer case if you want to compare prices/availability.

Thanks
