LIFTED!!!
Finally got the OME J's on the front and the heavies on the rear with ProComp 9000 shocks with eye mount adapters on the cruiser a couple weekends ago. What a huge difference!!! Im guessing I gained atleast 4-5 inches all the way around. My old springs reminded me of my grandmother...saggy...and the shocks were original. Also took the front sway bar off. Need to extend the front brake lines, extend the diff breather tubes and lower the rear swaybar, but Im getting there.
Absolutely no driveline vibes, but its squirly as hell. Partly because of the not completely straight drag link bar (from Royal Blue) and the incorrect camber. Plenty of body roll too...but Im getting used to that. After all, its a 6000lb cruiser and not a Corvette. __________________ 1992 FJ80 7 Pin CDL Mod 265/70-R16 Maxxis Buckshot Mudders OME J's front OME Heavies Rear ProComp 9000 shocks Custom built Rear bumper & sliders http://forum.ih8mud.com/tn-stlca/198...ml#post2927590 http://Schafer_Photography.photoshop.com Last edited by TN_LandCruiser; 05-06-08 at 10:25 PM. |

Yep...with room to spare.
I have dented every side of the rig now. DS front door got tweaked to where it catches the front fender everytime the body flexes a little bit...have to pull the fender out to make it fit...really fun when it catches and Im in it...have to climb out the PS. LOL. Both sides have been dented in by protruding objects during deep rut navigation. Actually have dents in my rockers ABOVE my sliders...Im still scratching my head on that one...only thing I can figure is I was so off camber the sliders were more off the side than underneath. Both tail lights have been taken out. Chris will appreciate this...there is now an abundance of "red tape" on the ass end. I have replacement lights on order, but wont be putting them on until I add QP protection. Need to find someone to help me bend tube to create rear QP protection... It is definitely a tried and true TRAIL RIG now... __________________ 1992 FJ80 7 Pin CDL Mod 265/70-R16 Maxxis Buckshot Mudders OME J's front OME Heavies Rear ProComp 9000 shocks Custom built Rear bumper & sliders http://forum.ih8mud.com/tn-stlca/198...ml#post2927590 http://Schafer_Photography.photoshop.com Last edited by TN_LandCruiser; 04-29-08 at 02:51 PM. |

This is a TLCA sanctioned event, so all participants must be TLCA members, Which means they must own a Toyota 4X4 vehicle, if it is their daily driver and they wheel a vehicle of lesser quality they can bring it. If you only come for the ride on Saturday you do not need to register. If you want to register ,e-mail me and I will send you a form, which includes the option to join TLCA. __________________ Please help save the Upper Tellico OHV area, Donate to the Rescue Tellico Fund http://www.sfwda.org/trails/tellico/donate.html ![]() Roger FJ-40/6.2L Diesel STLCA White Trash of the Elwood Chapter VP SFWDA |

As soon as I can get the divorce finalized and get MY money back into MY pocket...Im moving to 35's, but will have to go to 4:88 gears (with a rear aussie locker) to get it to move under its own power...damn 4.0L tractor motor!
More body damage Saturday night...got into a BIG rut and ripped the front DS flair off...so I will be completely flairless soon. I so need an ARB and winch...Found an unlocked '93 FJ80 with 235k miles out off Lee Hwy and 153 for sale. Its in decent shape, but as soon as I found that it wasnt locked it fell off my radar. They are asking $4500 I think...I paid $5100 for my '92, but it only had 189k miles... __________________ 1992 FJ80 7 Pin CDL Mod 265/70-R16 Maxxis Buckshot Mudders OME J's front OME Heavies Rear ProComp 9000 shocks Custom built Rear bumper & sliders http://forum.ih8mud.com/tn-stlca/198...ml#post2927590 http://Schafer_Photography.photoshop.com |
