July TT is HERE!

Still haven't recieved my subscribed issue for May-June yet, but AmWeb came thru with a box of the new issues today!

As fate would have it, the first article I got to read was TJKs about CM06.

Todd,

That is some of the finest writing I've seen ANYWHERE! I've always had this assumption that deep in the heart of every editor there is a writer that still emerges from time to time. I'd be proud to submit an article like that to a nationwide contest for newsletters or clubs or whatever [if I knew where one was!] The visuals are perfect to the point that people that don't even know you could still picture someone they know 'like' you in that situation. That's just one of the things that sets this one apart. Truly superior.

I could go on, but I won't. Just wish I had seen it last week so I could have toasted you Friday at the Marauder Bar!

Reached into the mailbox stacked full of garbage hoping mine would be here today. Not quite yet, but that's good to know it's out.

Got my box Tuesday. I read Todd's Cruise Moab article immediately, of course. Very nice piece. Of course I'm biased. Read Tony's history article next. That's really great stuff. I'm kind of bummed there won't be more of that. You're a pretty fine writer yourself, Mark. I read your story today and was very impressed. You really know how to plan a trip, and write about it!! Chris King's FJ Cruiser OME suspension article is way cool, too. I think Trails is an amazing magazine. Kudos to all the editorial contributors and to Todd and Charlie for putting it all together. Each issue seems to be better than the last. Oh yeah, nice ads, too.

I appreciate the compliments, Mark. I'm pretty well out on a limb, in my opinion. I wanted to do something different and then the trip unfolded in a way that really afforded itself toward that purpose. I'm glad you liked it, hope others do as well.

One note, I'm currently involved in some back and forth with the printer related to the paper in the 1C section. It doesn't seem as bright as it should be, lacks whiteness, and in my opinion is under-coated. This will all come to not much other than I wish it looked better. Same paper though, just got a dull roll or two I bet.

Hopefully we'll see a web report here soon on the Rising Sun field trip to see this issue being printed. Sounded like they had fun.

Again, thanks. And my hat is off to everyone who continues to work very hard on this magazine. It's a remarkable group.

TJK

ya gots a spare layin around, I'd love one...

however, I'm still curious to why it didn't make it...membership issue, USPS deal, or what...gotta make sure it's corrected for next time...

and, as a business member, I outta be 1st class too...which makes it even stranger....

I really enjoyed this TT issue. I like the "to the trail on the trail, home from the trail" articles... great adventures, keep em' coming! that's reality for many people (myself included: )

It's just not fair - I own an FJ40 for years, then I get a 55, because it's wierder/cooler, then I sell that truck and get an FJ45 LWB pickup, because it's weirder/cooler, and then out comes this issue of TT with a profile on FJ25, which are weirder/cooler, but unobtanium.

Sigh - what's a 'cruiserhead to do?

Great issue, BTW
