March/April Trails is out

Nice surprise when I got home last night from work to find the new Trails is already here in Northern California.
Great article by Ige. Will read the rest this week.

Guys, I wish I could control the mail, but I can't. Canadian issues are taking forever to get there for reasons I can't explain. They're sent via 1st class mail directly from our publisher & then I don't know what the Canadian Post is doing with them. It is simply not the TLCA's fault that you're not receiving them. This is an issue we are currently working on with the Postal Service to fix but until that time, if you're not getting the magazine, you HAVE to let ME know instead of coming here to post about it because A.I rarely come here & B. I can't look at your post & determine who you are in most cases. Send me an email & I'll get you taken care of, but if you post about it here I can do nothing to help you. Here's my email address:

membership@tlca.org

Thanks guys!

Jenn,

Did you get any sense as to how (if?) the switch to periodical mailing would effect the Canadian mailing?

Thanks,

TJK

I just became a member and received my card today. I'm wondering if I can expect a copy of the March/April issue or if I will only start receiving them as the next one !

Radd Cruisers it is time for you guys to get creative. if you are close to the border why don't you do a group rent on a post office box on the u.s.a. side have the mail/parts deliveries sent there then truck them across the border yourself then remail via the canuckistan postal service on your side

Are the packages tampered with once you get them?... maybe the customs officials are checking them out first

Not tampered with.

Not one to hold back either, hope I did not ruffle any feathers.......

All I can add is that.... why should we Canucks be a month behind, should I be in charge of finding better choices for delivering TT?

I can advocate that this should be a simple fix with a few phone calls if that does not work look for a better solution.

AS a small bizzness owner, my days start at 7AM and I normally do not get home until 8PM, I will try and find time to help find better service in my idle time.

Rob

Are you guys signed up for first class delivery? Because there is a 2-3 week difference in delivery dates, I used to have bulk mailing and had to wait, now with first class it is much faster.

Rob, Don't worry about ruffled feathers. You guys should get better delivery than you are. Thanks for speaking up because I'm sure you are not the only one. Jennifer at the TLCA office needs to be contacted. If you know of some better alternative, please forward that information to her. I know first class in the US is quicker. We honestly DO want you guys to get your Trails in a timely manner.

I've alreaady been contacted - plenty, I might add. I'm well aware of Canadian delivery issues but there's nothing I can do about it except for what I'm already trying to do to increase not only the speed of delivery but also the accuracy of it as well for all of our members. I really wish I could control the post office but I can't & all the complaining & yelling at me isn't going to help matters. I have applied for our periodicals mailing permit & are waiting for approval from the US Postal Service. This is a long process & requires a lot of record keeping & tracking on my part but should drastically improve delivery issues both domestic & Canadian. I got sick & tired of hearing about how many bulk issues weren't being delivered & I was tired of being the recipient of those angry phone calls & emails as a result of the postal service doing God knows what with them & in turn making the TLCA look bad. So to hopefully eradicate these problems, I have been working with the postal service to get a Periodicals Permit for the TLCA. But please do not call & yell at me about it or send me nasty emails about not receiving Trails because delivery is not in my control. I understand the frustrations of it, trust me I do - I yell at the post office daily for this stuff, but I personally don't appreciate being the brunt of their screw up. You guys are always welcome to call or email me & I will ALWAYS help you, but please, be nice about it. That's all I ask. Thanks!

Rob, the Swamp Donkeys get their Trails bulk shipped to my office. They usually arrive in Fort St. John, B.C. days before most Americans get their copies. If you want, PM me your address and I can put one in the mail for you.

FYI Jen, we received the resent membership info a few weeks ago. I think what happened is that they were originally sent to out of date addresses. Thanks for fixing it up for us
