| Get Flat Nasty with Tornado Alley Cruisers “Get Flat Nasty with Tornado Alley Cruisers”
Come help us celebrate TLCA’s 30th Anniversary with a weekend of great family fun!!!! This TLCA sanctioned event will be held September 28, 29 & 30, 2006 at FlatNasty Off-Road Park in the beautiful Missouri Ozarks, near Salem, MO.
Registration is $65 and includes: 3 day park pass for the driver, General raffle ticket, Driver’s raffle ticket, BBQ Dinner ticket, T-shirt and Decal.
Camping: On site camping is plentiful and primative but cheap at $5 per vehicle per night. Other lodging information is available at the FlatNasty link above.
Additional Items: Passengers (15 and over) $5, Meal tickets for the BBQ Friday night are $10, T-shirts $15 (please pre-order shirts, very limited quantities will available at the event).
Flat Nasty offers a wide variety of trails from easy to expert. All trails are marked with trail number and rating at the entrance so you know what you’re getting into. FlatNasty is always opening new trails in the 850 acre park. The park also has a monthly GPS Treasure Hunt, and has one trail, “Get It Billy”, that now has a bounty on it. As of April 29th the bounty was $101 cash and $350 in gift certificates from Drive Train Specialists for the first rig to make it to the top unassisted.
Other area activities include canoe rentals from Jadwin Canoe Rental (about 1 mile from the park) and Akers Ferry Canoe Rental , both offering float trips on the Current River.
We will open registration Wednesday evening and again Thursday morning along with tech/safety inspections. Trails will run Thursday, Friday and Saturday with a catered Bar-B-Q dinner Friday evening, followed by the raffles.
You can register online at www.tornadoalleycruisers.com and pay with PayPal. More info will be added as we go so please check back. Also look for our ad in the next issue of Toyota Trails
Hope to see ya there!

| Man....if it wasn't on our wedding anniversary...... I would even take the car cover off of Wild Rice and bring it down for a good flogging. Maybe the wife won't notice I'm gone....shhhhh!

| What better gift for your anniversary than a weekend of wheeling and a T-shirt?

Trouble is I would like to have more anniversary's......face it some folks (wives) have no sense of humor on these things. I think if we just postponed the Anni till say August everything would work out just fine!

| For those of you who aren't married, pick a date that is close to a time of year when you don't want to wheel. I think December is great. Easy to remember right before Christmas. For the wedding people are already traveling. And you typically are busy but not with wheeling or wrenching. And to top it off there are some good sales.
What do I know? I have an occupation that totally screws up attending spring and fall LC runs. And I got married in August. A hot time of the year. And a time when I always want to do something else.

| We are nearly 30% towards our registration goal so far, but would like to be closer. What's holding everyone back? School schedules? Gas prices? Fear of large rocks?

| FJ Trail Teams are coming as well Also confirmed today that the FJ Trail Teams will be at our little event, thrashing the FJ's.
Best of all they will be cook'n burgers, dog and brats (not the young'un types) Friday night.
I'm looking forward to hook'n up with these folks again!!!

Do you know if any of the ones on their website that say "future" are done (not that it matters much, as they are almost all "extreme")? I only see really three trails of moderate ability (with one being a bypass) and one easy. For those folks that have been before, are some of the "extreme" trails similar to a 3, 4, or 5 rating (1-5 scale) like at other parks? I only ask because maybe some of the less extreme trails could be run like a moderate trail.
Also, I believe that ICBM in Texas is the weekend before (last I checked) and that could be holding some folks back as well.
I just got back from the Salem, MO area (floated the Current) and must say it's much like the rest of the Ozarks...which means bea-u-ti-ful!!! Very green right now and the water was great (as usual). Lots of campgrounds around there and plenty of very friendly people. It was about an eight hour drive from the OKC area.
Thanks,
Matt

| I'll have to look at the map we picked up earlier this year to see how it compares with the website. We felt that the park offered something for everyone.

| When I was there last October, Ron was aggressively cutting newer trails specifically for the non-hardcore crowd...
I'm still trying to work schedules, and may end up arriving Friday morning....hope to have that ironed out in the next week or so....
