hey guys I'm planning on going up and have never been. not many hotel rooms left(the ones that are they want $130 a night or better) what campgrounds would you suggest and would it be worth it to take my ride if I don't have a resevation for trails? Is there still trails that I can ride on?

I don't know if there's anything left there, but most hang out at the slickrock campground.

I have a room at the holiday inn express, just a 1/2 mile or so from slickrock. prices were pretty fair when I booked...but that was a few weeks ago...

I'm tempted to make the trip with the mountain bike, and hang out wherever....

there are plenty of trails, you just won't be able to run the assigned trails when the event is running them, plus you can get in on groups that are running trails before/after the event begins. i'll probably have a spare seat most of the time also.

Hey guys, registered for Cruise Moab, question I have is does your registration fee cover a camp spot at slick rock or do we need to call & make a reservation?

Thanks ahead for the feedback-its going to be our honeymoon-want things to go well!

Fee doesn't cover Slickrock. That's up to you to deal with. Not everyone stays there. I'm not sure where the meeting area is for inspections ect.... never been to moab.

slickrock camp fees are seperate...that is where the base camp will be with registration and inspections being done near the cabins...you really can't miss it as there are two huge tents and vehicles start lining up for inspection at about 7am.

the cm committee are meeting in the next couple of weeks to figure out trail assignments.

man, would love to go but may not be able to take the time off, so can't register yet...

If I do show up unexpectedly, anybody needs weight on the passenger side (for balance, you know... ) or a spotter or feels just plain generous towards a Moab newbie?

i think the best way to go to moab is as a passenger!!!
i did that last year and rode with alot of different people it was friggin awesome.no worries just hop in anywhere.believe me people love having someone with em.if you show up you WILL NOT be dissapointed.it takes 1.2 seconds to make life long friends at cruise moab.like i said in an above post if you dont make it in,at least show up,you WILL be taken care of.just make sure to pay BLM fees and everybody is happy

I agree with Shawn, if you can just show up. I ended up riding along last year as well, as the runner was down for the count. It was good fun. I'm always amazed by how friendly everybody is out in Moab, just doesnt get mutch better!
Looks like i'll have a open seat after all this year as my passanger that was doesnt now if they can get the time of work.

I've got the registration in, but the campground thing is still up in the air. Will be driving the 45, so I don't know if I'm gonna wheel it too much or just ride bitch. Might want to hook up with hatfield or nuclear.

Let's discuss MOAB some more.... I'm getting pumped.

hum... what time do the trail rides start at in the mornings?

Is there a place in MOAB to refill my CO2 OBA in town if I run out?

There must be some stuff we should discuss...

Aint that the truth.

Riley, not sure of a place to fill CO2. However most of the times we do not air up for the whole week. Unless you run one of the trails like Elephant Hill that is really far our of town.

Most trails start at 8-9 in the morning. Golden Spike starts earlier and Elephant Hill starts way early.

See you there.
