Not really,

Just in over my head for a one-man show...

Didn't you post up about an Orion sitting on the garage floor, not even assembled yet?

You should talk with tooth boy about getting that to my shop, via Cat in KCX...

what's this I heard today about BHCC cancelling the trail ride stuff again for 2005 due to fire concerns? Anyone able to make an official confirmation on that?

May have to activate plan B, like was done a few years back....

I just got off the phone with Greg Mumm. As some of you know, the 2002 BHCC event did not have trail riding. The Forest Service restricted off road travel because of the massive fire danger that existed, due to the drought that the area has been experiencing.

This year, the Black Hills area has received very little moisture in the form of snowfall, and subsequently has the lowest snow pack total in history. After talking with the Forest Service, and having them state that there will likely be travel restrictions in the Hills this year, last night, the Dakota Territory Cruisers held a meeting, and the very difficult decision was made to cancel the event. In 2002, the decision to cancel the trail riding part of the event was not made until the end of June, which did not sit well with many people that had planned their vacation around the event. This year, to avoid a similar situation, the decision was made very early, as to allow people far more time to make alternative plans.

Anyone that has registered for the event will be receiving a letter explaining this situation and a refund of your registration fee sometime in the next few weeks.

Now, with that said, in the event that the Black Hills area receives a substantial amount of rain in the next few months, things could change, but this is not something that anyone should plan on, as history defiantly is not on our side.

Any further information needed on this can be obtained by contacting Greg Mumm at:

Gregmumm@Rushmore.com

We'll thanks for clearing that up guys.

This just shows us the commitment that group of people have to the trails in the black hills. I know that had to be a hard decision to make, but I for one salute them for it.

Yessir, word came down it closed today. Major bummer.

Cramer: built the orion today. I don't know why they bother installing the idelr set when you have to move it to get the low range gear in. I'd be done if I had allen head 8x1.25;s for the warden's nosecone...get those tomorrow, set bearing preload, and finish it up...piece of cake overall...Do you get new hi/low shift fork springs, or jsut stretch the old one out a little?

Saweet hijack chef....

I used new shift collars, springs and balls in all that I have built.

Did you notice if your o-rings on the counter shaft were cut during install by AA?

A few of the cases that I recieved in my second group, that had the counter shaft installed, had damaged orings and would have been a leaking mess had I not checked them and replaced them after people said that theirs were leaking...

Wardens nose cone is pretty nice....Have installed two of the three that I had on Orion builds...I have one on my old case that is on the floor right now, and being replaced by an Atlas....

Glad to hear that you have it together!
