Thank you everyone for an awesome wheeling week. Thanks to everyone that was on the wagon run, thanks to Tony and Cindy for hosting this great event and thank you to everyone in the kitchen crew, along the trail, and to everyone that created a great atmosphere in the springs. This was my first Rubithon after missing last year and I will definitely be attending this event for every year forward that is in any way possible.

Cool Pic from the Springs
Hey Guys
Looking through my pictures from Rubithon I took this which turned out pretty cool. Do you know who owns the gray 40 or green 45 in the picture ? Don't know if he is interested, but i have a 12 Meg file of the follow pic below.
Thx
Dave

Sammy your truck would wheel a lot better if you did not have such dainty tires.............

Some non-dainty tires on the way Dan, watch out (what would you recommend), lol Got to have a little daintiness to her, she is an 80.

2010 dates!!! Jun 9 to 13
Dates for 2010 Rubithon are June 9 thru the 13th. THis is one week earlier to avoid Fathers Day. Fathers Day is the 3rd Sunday in June... that is how it ended up falling on our normal weekend.
You have been updated! :-)
Edit...OK, dates are set back to June 15 to 20th to appease my many friends.

That's going to impact a lot of people that are worried about attending their kids' graduation(s).
We've always done it the 3rd weekend. Why are you changing it?

2x, add to the kids, friends and family. That is a HUGE factor. If anything make it the week after Father's Day

It was never broken, not sure why you are trying to fix it. Rubithon on Fathers Day weekend has a long history. As a father, I look forward to wheeling on "my" day.

That is early and IMO if it does not conflict with school it would be great to get on the trail a couple weeks early. It may also bring the event and weather closer together. Interested in others POV.

I don't want the earlier scheduling either. Definitely will hit graduations and similar.

Doesn't that extra week allow for things to dry out as well?

it has been our goal to avoid Fathers Day... but Fathers day falls on the 3rd Sunday and will impact us for the next 2 (or 3) years, and if we are to move off fathers day we need to move now.
While you folks might not feel it, I do. I get myriads of calls from other Trail users who take great exception to our event happening on Fathers day.
However, I value the opinion of my event staff and will ponder this decision. We could push out one week... I think.

Just because I have enjoyed enough of that trail does not mean that I will not make observations.

I think you should go back and look at some of the previous dates. If I remember correctly, for the last 10 years, Rubithon been on the 3rd weekend of June. There was one year (2004) where it was on the 2nd weekend, and it got postponed to August because it was too wet.
I think conflicts with school will have a greater impact to attendance than conflicts with Father's Day.

Didn't really see any whining, mostly valid arguments. Now that I think about it, may have caused a conflict at our house with graduations. Fathers Day should be what we want to do I believe. Mom's have there own day
Thanks for being flexible Tony.

Thanks Tony.
I'm willing to drink a beer in your honor on Saturday night for Father's Day.
Or, you could have all the fathers stand up at the raffle, or something.
Are we going to keep the format all on Friday next year? I liked that.

not sure Andy... we'll (TLCA event staff) need to discuss. I fully realize this worked very well for you and many others with a long drive, or other needs. Additionally, it got us out faster on that weekend. However, it did have other repercussions such as pulling everything off on Friday night (which I felt worked OK).
June 15 to 20, 2010.
