well regardless of the sign up page, Andy is leaving at 7 AM, and I suggest you be there.
and 20 trucks is no problem... you have excellent trail committee, the trucks meet our requirements, and you have the entire trail to yourselves on a Wednesday. Life is great!
Andy and all Trail leads will be contacting their group to ensure good communication on arrival at trail head time, and ideal departure time.
Final lists go out this weekend at its registration cut off.

Tony, good thing I read this. JimJob asked me to help out on the wagon run since the FJ's are not attending. I sent my stuff on Thursday to you. I just paid the regular fee so I will work trail or whatever. See you there Wed AM 7 sharp!!

Today is registration cut off. woo hoo.
We are pulling the PO Box today and taking faxed registrations. Late fees and verbal abuse apply to anyone registering after today, 5/31.
Meal and shirt counts today, trail committee packets out and camp permits being assembled.
Last minute phone calls are pouring in and a few cancellations which always happen about this time.
Reminders:
Safety is key and foremost in all our activities. The safety of you, those around you, your vehicle and the safety of our reputation as responsible outdoor enthusiasts. Have gloves for driver and spotter.
Ensure your truck maintenance is complete. Do not run Rubithon with a known mechanical issue. Fix it.
Check Fire Status. I suggest plan for the worst, full propane only. But if you must do otherwise, get fire status and secure permit if fires are not prohibited.
Come Prepared! Bug Spray, Sun Screen, Foul weather gear just in case, a tarp or two, personal toilet, drinking water, tow strap and high lift easily accessible, first aid kit, fire extinguisher and spill response.
Spill Response?? The 3 primary challenges that jeopardize the Rubicon trail are: silting caused by splashing through water and puddles, human excrement not properly contained and oil spills from vehicles. Your 3 requirements: Tread lightly, carry a personal toilet and contain all oil spills.
and the most important... have fun and be courtious to your fellow TLCA member camped next to you.

Enigma, in the hopes that you already registered I was trying to claim your dinner ticket that would otherwise go unused if you infact do have to cancel.

I did register, and sadly had to cancel, but before the cancellation deadline. So there should be no unused ticket.

Tony, I would like to add some clarifications if I may. Splashing through water does not cause siltation. The Tahoe side will most likely still be wet during exit this year as usual. Stay on the trail and don't spin tires on wet ground. Winch or strap to save the wheel spin. That causes erosion and the trail to become incised.
WAG bags can be available at Pollock Pines gas. use them and then take them home with you to throw in the garbage. The powder inside makes the poo in to non hazardous stuuf so it is safe and legal to just toss.
Tony, get with me and let's work a strategy to do spill kits and WAG bags from the Kiosk. How about doing check in there?
A good safety tip i have found is eye contact and voice contact. If the driver can't hear you stand up, look them in the eye and get it understood. Funny what you learn when there is a complete language barrier.
The driver should pick one person to communicate with. The worst case scenario is too many Ross's I mean cooks in the drivers seat and confusion abounds.
Try that with a group of 20 drunks!!
See ya soon, Scott

Unfortunately no, but I do have them sitting in my garage. I have just enough time to do the essentials (I hope) , a few new goodies though. When I put it all down on paper, I want to do it right and that'll take time, some more $$, and additional research. I'm sure we'll talk over a few beverages. We going to have the pleasure of meeting the future Mrs. HannaQuality?

I think Tom F and David U are both looking for a ride-or at least part of a ride, so they don't have to hike the whole thing.

I am sure some are aware of the "problem" on Ice House Road/Loon Lake area. The Forest Service LEO that patrols the area seems to have a hard on for 4wdirve vehicles, tow rigs and anything else he can think of.
If anyone has been following the thread on PBB they know what I am talking about. Apparently he has been at it again so just be aware.
So have all your vehicles correct/legal/etc.
List of citations are varied but very ticky tacky. He will get you for something. So do whatever you can to keep him bored to tears.
Here is the link to the last page of the thread.
Law Enforcement in the Rubicon, version 2 - Page 10 - Pirate4x4.Com Bulletin Board
Hopefully this is not a major buzz kill.
See ya'll up there Wed.
