Thats what (wife & I)are planning to do. I guess i need to know where exactly the exit is ? How long does it take to get to the springs from the exit ? Just trying to judge time frame. Thanks.

Zoom in on this link. staging ( trailer parking) is about four miles west of Tahoma on the trail. Two hours from staging is a reasonable pace into the Springs.

Pack five or to be safe, ten gallons depending on how much of a fuel hog your rig is (at 7000 feet)
That's assuming a stock tank, with an aux you'd have no problems round tripping the trail.

Map of Tahoma, CA by MapQuest
oops! I don't know about In and Outs, probably one in Reno. Get a "double double animal style" not on the menu, but damned good.
Closest fuel is in Tahoe City I believe, 10 miles or so to the trailhead.

There was a little store just past the turn off 89 as you are headed to the staging area. like 1/8 mile down 89 towards south lake.

Yes, he's aware of that. On Wed, he'll rent a car in SF and drive up the hill to meet you.

Here is another opinion. Weather.com often links small towns to stuff nearby, in this case maybe Placerville or Polock Pines at a much lower elevation. Here is weather underground which simply copies the National Weather Service, clear and low 70's..........

rig runs again, seems as though a fuel filter for a four cyl with 1/4 in and out does not flow the same as a v8 filter with 3/8 in and out. now to get the fubared plugs cleaned. it is awn.
