Rubithon - This aint no Jamboree Baby!

TLCA is proud to Host it's premier event Rubithon, June 20 to 24, 2007.

Details are being developed! Web site is not current... www.rubithon.com

Note: All trucks must meet minimum truck requirements: at least 33" tires with some aggressive tread, and either tranny/tcase gears or front and rear lockers (a combination of both is best).

This run is not for the timid or faint of heart. Body damage make you ill, stay home. :-)

Return attendees can expect to see some changes... Primarily:

Emphasis on Safety! Last year, hand and finger injuries were rampant. All passengers will be expected to wear gloves when exiting the truck to spot or toss rocks.
New Runs! Discussions are underway for a new Wagon Only run on Wednesday and the new Tahoe Easy In run on Friday, Entering from the Lake Tahoe side. This run will drop you quick and easily into Rubicon Springs on Friday afternoon.

Of course, some traditions will continue as always including: Committee Awards ceremony Friday night followed by the Marauder Bar! You have not seen anything like this bar! Saturday night BBQ dinner prepared by the Henle's, Ross and your TLCA friends and volunteers. And of course, the Sunday Exit Strategy to everyone can get home safely.

Expect more to come on this... and thanks for reading.

Rubithon Contact info: Tony Twiddy Rubithon@tlca.org 707-431-0604

We plan on going this year. The Fj40 is up and running and the Fj62 will be trail worthy by then. Look forward to seeing everyone.

Dtrain... hmmm, sure they are PMC? If you are talking about the Knorr Bros and Glenn White, then don't confuse PMC with Rubithon. Many TLCA members from many clubs comprise Rubithon, it is not a PMC thing at all.

also, yes, I have a job for you. PLease drop me a line at Rubithon@tlca.org...

Ya, many PMC members support the event, along with many Toys on the Rocks, LA Trail Crew, Toyotally Awesome cruisers, and MTA members... just to name a few clubs.

Either way, I hope to see you and them all at Rubithon!

It's all about the group and the excellent spotting I received. I look forward to trying out a few new lines this year.

Look forward to seeing you too.

I'd like to fly into Reno for Rubithon this year. I have an invite to ride with Peesalot (I'm not sure how smart that is of me, but that's a separate topic). A couple of questions.

1. Transportation from Reno airport to camping area. (and back) Obviously I could rent a car, if thats the best idea.

2. Registration form doesn't say much about registering as a passenger/spotter.

This would be my first Rubithon and I'm sure some of these things would work themselves out- but I'm kinda' excited right now.

Thanks, Luke

EDIT: If there's anyone else going from the Midwest- I could contribute to fuel/lodging along the way.
EDIT #2: Figured out transportation from Airport to one of the Casinos via their shuttle bus. Also figured out registration. Now all I have to figure out is how to convince my wife to let me come West for 4 days and leave her with a 6 month old and a 4 year old.

Gotcha'.

The weather here is like 3 degrees above zero right now, so I'm kind of obsessing about warmer weather and really enjoying thoughts of Rubithon. Thanks for putting up with my spastic posts.

Luke

Oh, the web site is updated with 07 info and 07 registration form.

www.Rubithon.com

also, if you are working committee, contact me off line at Rubithon@tlca.org for a committee type registration form.

If you work committee in 06, your thank you gift and 07 reg form will be shipping out very soon... I have them, just need to ship. Toys on the Rocks will have their delivered personally along with Toyotally Awesome and PMC.

Biggest change for 07... all spotters/rock stackers must wear gloves. Emphasis on hand and finger safety this year.

Be safe! Not Sorry.

Tony
