That is all beautiful terrain and I hope that there is enough local and vocal support for keeping as many existing trails and roads open as possible once the plan gets finalized. Planning usually means phasing-out or limiting rather than coming up with solutions that benefit all parties involved.

This seems to be going on in a lot of places at once. In Oregon, I know of the meetings for Mt. Hood Natl Forest, and I think I've heard of one for Willamette Natl Forest. A local club I'm in does a yearly wildlife rehab project and next month we'll have the FS reps to talk with at the meeting, so I'll bring it up.

From what I've heard, they are identifying roads that get used so they can implement their "if it doesn't have a sign that says open, it's closed and off-limits" plan that is getting pushed at a federal level.

This not only affects OHV, but ALL ROADS in national forests.
