After a few weeks I recieved this from my Congressman. I usually like the guy but this is a political statment if I ever heard one. Like what he has to say about it never comming to vote though. So confusing about how he wants everyone to be able to enjoy it by protecting it but by protecting it NOBODY would ever get to enjoy it.
POLITICS
Dear Mr. Traylor:
Thanks for your message in opposition to the Red Rock Wilderness Act. I appreciate hearing from you.
I think we can agree that Utah's red rock country is one of the most unique and spectacular landscapes in the United States. I believe this incredible wild place deserves permanent protection to ensure that future generations of Americans can experience red rock country in its undeveloped state.
Despite overwhelming public support and nearly 150 congressional cosponsors to the bill, the Red Rock Wilderness Act has never been considered for a vote in the House of Representatives. Given opposition from Utah's congressional delegation, I do not anticipate a vote anytime in the near future.
Again, thanks for your comments. Please keep in touch.

Florida congressman Bill Young was totally cool. I got this letter back:
------------------
October 5, 2009
Thank you for letting me know of your opposition to H.R. 1925, the America's Red Rock Wilderness Act of 2009.
You can be sure that I share your interest in this regard and appreciate knowing your thoughts. As you know, H.R. 1925 would designate as wilderness certain federal portions of the red rock canyons of the Colorado Plateau and the Great Basin Deserts in the State of Utah.
H.R. 1925 has been referred to the House Natural Resources Subcommittee on National Parks, Forests and Public Lands where it awaits further consideration. Because of your interest in this matter, and in an effort to be of all possible assistance to you, I have taken the liberty of sharing your opposition to this legislation with my colleagues on the committee. As they continue to review the America's Red Rock Wilderness Act, please know that they will keep your concerns in mind.
Again, thank you for taking the time to contact me regarding this matter of mutual concern. It is my hope that you will continue to keep me apprised of your interest in legislative matters important to you.
With best wishes and personal regards, I am
Bill Young
Member of Congress
