Don't Let Them Close Moab!!!!
I know this should be in the land use section, but I think most of us never read that (I don't), I'm going to post this in all the vehicle specific forums as I think this is REALLY important:
Was on the Blue Ribbon Coalition (BRC) site and saw the we only have until Nov 30th to make comments on a plan to outlaw OHV's in most of the Moab UT area.
http://sharetrails.org/public_lands/?section=MoabUpdate (edit: updated link)
Please take the time to send a letter. There is no cut and paste e-mail, and BRC makes it a little hard to figure out what to say, but my take is:
Alternative A: don't vote for this as it isn't an option being considered, just used as a base for the other alternatives.
Alt B: hippie, greenie zero-acess "we hate all humans" option
Alt c: BLM says is the "preferred", blends conservation and OHV
Alt D: most favorable to OHV use

Please someone who is computer literate set up a cut and paste blog regarding Closing of Moab. Better yet lets get some money investors to buy all the real property we can, and charge an admission to use it. Beats closing al the trails. Lions back was number two, where is it going to stop, the greenies are about themselves. As always

soul man.... don't post this on all the tech forums it will only make the admin/mods upset. I agree it's important, but so are many issues.
Your link doesn't work.

thanks for posting this, Soul Man. a very concise summary of Utah's 4 wheel drive association's position on this can be found here: http://www.u4wda.org/documents/U4WDA...Fact_Sheet.pdf
and a sample letter from them can be found here: http://www.u4wda.org/documents/U4WDA.Moab.Official.pdf
And a little more reading and discussion about this can be found in the Rising Sun's Land Use area (yes, the people who brought you Cruise Moab!) here: http://www.risingsun4x4club.org/foru...ead.php?t=4646
edit: Ok I see now that those same documents are linked in the thread that you posted as well... oh well I'm leaving them. Folks please do take the time to collect a few of your thoughts and write a letter..

The www.u4wda.org site has tons of info on this topic. There is no simple "click" option on this one guys, the omly way to help is with a real comment but the u4 site gives you the full rundown on how to make it count.
Please help protect this 4wd Mecca...

Great cause but there's no reason to post the same thread in every forum.

Sorry about the multiple posts, but I know personally I never look at the Land Use forum and figure most of the readers on here don't look there either. Unfortunately there are only 3 days left for people to comment, coupled with the fact that it is more difficult than other issues (can't just cut and paste a pre-written response). I figured they'd get moved (and sorry again to the Admins) but felt it was the only way to get people to see it. I'm a Blue Ribbon Coalition life member, and I only found out by accident. We need to get more people (including myself) reading the land use forums so things like this don't go unnoticed. I'm sure SUMA is pulling out all the stops to get letters supporting Alternative B :-(
Moab is proably the mecca of OHV and a lot of mud readers/TLCA etc. go there for events etc.
Try this link, and I"ll update it in the original post. http://sharetrails.org/public_lands/?section=MoabUpdate
You need to look around a bit, but they do go through some of it point-by-point with some ideas on what to write.
The is also a "Moab Partnership" fund to organize all the pro OHV groups around MOab. Here's the link from BRC: http://www.sharetrails.org/public_lands/?section=Moab2 it is a $120 donation to help our cause politcally and seems like a good investment in our future
