Rising Sun Trail Maintanence Press

Came across this while surfing the home town's TV news:

http://www.9news.com/news/article.aspx?storyid=76121

BOULDER COUNTY - When the Rising Sun 4x4 club members come rolling up in their Toyota Landcruisers it's usually for a day fun on the trail, but this weekend members like John Henley showed up to work.

"This is an opportunity for us to keep what we have," said Henley of the group's latest project.

Rising Sun members have teamed up with the US Forest Service to maintain one of their favorite four wheeling spots in Boulder County.

On Saturday a dozen people gathered to start drilling holes and pouring concrete for a new steel kiosk for the Jenny Creek Trailhead.

"If we don't do this, we aren't going to have trails to keep," said Henley.

The US Forest Service says recently more and more people are using Colorado trails but not everyone is doing their part to maintain them.

The kiosk is just one of several projects for the Rising Sun. Henley hopes it will be around decades from now.

"You know my grandkids, even great-grandkids can come up here if this trail is sustained and have a day of fishing at the lake and know that their grandfather built this kiosk," said Henley.

Nice work Rising Sun folks...Jenny Creek was the first trail I took my 40 on, thanks for keeping the CO trails open.
