TLCA Membership

Although I know Vancouver Island does not have near the cruisrs the rest of Canada or US have, BUT I would like to figure out a way to increase membership on the island.

Crusty in Victoria has started a TLCA chapter and they are winging the whole thing.

Could thier be a template sent out helping new chapters get started?

Some literature would be a good start, maybe some mags to drop off at toyota, or even maybe I could approach toyota about putting the odd restoration with TLCA stickers on it?

Not in any way looking to pimp my biz and would like to see more people being aware of the organization, I honestly think most new FJ owners would truly enjoy the magazine fully.

Looking for ideas???

Rob

one of the denver dealerships buys tlca memberships for new fj owners because a rising sun member talked to them about the association. definitely talk to your local dealership.

Mark,

I have a nonbroken coarse spline one you can have. Let me know if you want it. I was going to make it into an award but this sounds like a more interesting purpose.

The TAC started out with that, but become concerned over potential liability issues if things were to get out of hand (like someone referring to a LC as a j**p).

David Dearborn had some great ideas, like giving away TLCA memberships with completed work or sales through the shop.

Could this be done on behalf of my customers by me?

I've done several of those, as well as initiating some goofy contests on the bbs with membership as the prize just to flag some attention to TLCA. Here's a link to one of them:

I am not familar with swamp donkeys and have never been with Coastal cruisers, however Vancouver Island has its own new VI Cruiser club which I am affiliated with.

Guess I have to anti up, three customers since we opened the shop spent over a 1000 bucks so I have a few memberships to buy.

Guess I just need thier address, two are US bound, one canuck.

I can see quite a few new members in the upcoming year.
