History of Toyota Trails?

I inherited a TT collection from a good freind of mine here in SLC. Dave was one of the founding members of Basin & Range Cruisers (RIP for now ), and was involved in the Wasatch Cruisers from the beginning too. The collection starts at Mar/Apr 1992, and is partially complete all the way to where my TT collection started.

I've had a blast rifling through the old trails, seeing names that are still in the scene (Woody, Ige, Mark A.)

So when did Trails have a continuous bi-monthly publication?

If Tony mentioned this recent TLCA history, I must have missed it.

ie: when was the first trails, and when did the 6x per year newsletter originally begin?

I've got most of mine back to that vintage too, other than a handful I donated to other addicts...lol Believe my first issue was the one where I made the Letter to the Editor column....

Ah. The History article on Trails gives the date when the flyer went from being The Landcruiser to Toyota Trails. Then the date for the first of the magazine format. I don't have that issue with me though, sorry. I'll look tonight. Not sure if it covers the 6/year question though.

Tony?

I don't have it in front of me...

but I recall very early 80s when TLCA started cranking out a newsletter, TT. They were done piggy backing on club newsletters and also needed to provide some value to members.

However, it was Gary taking over in 1991 that started TT as a bi monthly monthly publication (no longer a newsletter).

Cool, thats what I was interested in knowing.

Woody, thats one of the issues I have. You commented on how much you like Marks articles...

Ige was looking at starting a club (would become the Windy City LC's)

Alan L (I think) - was restoring a 45 and looking for info

Its amazing how many of the names still linger in the community. I've been slowly reading through some of the articles and letters to the editor, I'm shocked how many of the names I recognize from the interweb or are customers of mine.
