waterproofing dimmer switch

    just wondering what best way to waterproof the connections on floor dimmer switch would be. thinking silicone?
    the old boot was in pieces when i rewired, have tape on there now, but thinking if get any water trapped in there going to have problems. would a new boot protect it well enough (if available)?

    You might try several coats of liquid electrical tape. The stuff is tough, dries quickly and is waterproof. IMHO
