    Everyone keeps asking me how strong these brackets are. To answer your questions;

    1. We are in the process of having the brackets bench tested on a hydraulic press to find their breaking point.
    2. We are also in the process of finding the bracket's theoretical breaking point taking into account material, construction etc.
    3. We are in the process of having 2 Independent MUD field testers test our brackets as well as all who have already bought them, about 50 brackets so far.
    4. And finally, we have been field testing them ever since inception, we've posted videos of such.
    That said, these brackets are only as strong as what they are attached to eg your FRAME. The strength of the brackets and the supplied hardware far exceed the strength of any vehicle frame, including the land cruiser. THEY ARE 1/2" Steel!!

    I dare say, we are testing these brackets a hole lot more than anyone tests their custom bumpers/ recovery points.

    I'll keep you all posted on the above mentioned results! :cheers:

    URB Stress Analysis has been completed.

    Working Load limit of 10,000 lbs

    Ultimate Strength of 20,000 lbs

    A working load limit of 10,000 lbs provides a safety factor of (2) and coincides with readily available shackles. Additionally, 20,000 lbs reflects a yield within tolerance, not a failure.

    While we are proud of the above results, we suggest always utilizing more than one recovery point. This is not only safer but easier for recovery purposes.

    For those who have already purchased the URB, thank you. For those on the fence, here is your proof. :cheers:

    Just installed 3 of the 4 URB I ordered from maxxmaven and jonesysoffroad. Fits awesome and came with all new bolts and washers. Fit and finish is great and they were very fast in shipping. Very happy and looking forward to using them when I head out to the North End this spring / summer.

    Side note: one nut is pretty stubborn on the rear left OE brackets and I'm hungry so the last one will go on tomorrow.

    How do you use two recovery points, some kind of equalizer strap?

    Quick question regarding the URB: Is there a reason you used bent plate in stead of just using 1/2" angle? Is it stronger or just easier to produce?

    Thanks.
