I am looking at purchasing some synthetic winch line for my 12K winch. The correct load rating for that would be 24k minimum average breaking strength (for when you use a snatch block; doubles line load). The closest synthetic line size is 1/2" (12mm) which has a minimum breaking strength of 25k, average of around 30k. so, on to the good stuff. I found a place that I can get the line for around $185-190 per 100' section. No thimble or hook. You would need to get those and thread the rope, Viking Offroad offers a splicing kit, but I have not seen anything close to that anywhere. (It is Dyneema SK-75, which is amsteel blue)
