What is the stock size tire and modern day equivalent for 1979 FJ40? My owner's manual says 5-1/2JJ x 15 but I can't find table with modern day equivalent.
    Thanks,
    Ted

Sorry, 5-1/2jj x 15 is the wheel size. Original tire size in my manual shows to be H78-15B. So, what is that equivalent to today?
    Thanks,
    Ted

Ended up finding my own answer. Stock H78-15B or HR78-15B is equivalent to today's 205/75 R15. This website has a good tire comparator to compare your tire with stock to see what your speedometer error is.

If you are in need of tires I have a set of nearly new stock size.

I see your rig is doing pretty well on ebay. Good luck! Maybe you can bring it to the LSLC meeting tomorrow night so we can check it out.
