SILVER Star
In between two Iraq deployments, I purchased an inexpensive 1968 FJ40 from a fellow Marine. I knew the rig so I had no surprises in dealing with the long-term rehab effort. We made a fair deal.
With less interest in a long-term project, I'm kicking the idea of buying a 1978 FJ40 in Tennessee. I'm a capable shade tree mechanic but now lack the garage space to do too much. Plus, the community HOA hates air compressors or greasy hands.
While he is straight forward in answering my questions, I could your help decoding the undercarriage situation. He says that it has been painted and all seals / gaskets replaced over the past three (3) years.
Any concerns based on these photos?
