Just wear polarized sunglasses if you want the same effect.

Solid sun visors are more effective.

Gee, thanks for the advice, problem is (which has already been pointed out) that OAK and CAMEL are no longer available and used ones are just as old, rebuilding destroys the material.

I think this is a good option for those that want visors (my mother). In Moab on hot sunny days visors are necessary.

Ok, let's see if I can attach the files.

View attachment 1750112 C.pdf

Apparently, I can only upload 195 kb, so I'll have to do it in two posts.

This is the mount plate.

I can only upload 193 kb. If I remove the attachment in the post above and upload the drawing of the visor, will you be able to view the mount?

Here's the correspondence from Dan at Rosen.

Good morning Dan,

There is no need for a mount or hook on the open end as the tension in the set screws on the mounting end holds the visor in place until it is moved by the user. These screws can be adjusted to suit your personal taste as to how tightly the visor is held in place.

Thanks Dan.

The only remaining question is what holds them up at the loose end, the mount or is there a hook like the OEM?

Hello Dan,

The overall dimensions for the Icon lens is 6.01” in depth and 15.1” in length. Bear in mind that with the sliding arm, the horizontal coverage extends approximately an additional 6”. The depth of the 83 lens is 7.76”, so not much deeper that the Icon lens. In any case, they will not assembly the Icon system with another lens than the one called out on the drawing. If you wanted a different lens, you would have to order that separately and put in on yourself. However, this is not a difficult task if you really wanted to go that way, as all the mounting holes are in the same position for all the lenses. Let me know if you have any additional questions. Thanks.

Dan,

Thanks for the info and drawings. The icon mount has the same screw hole spacing as my 1997 Toyota Land Cruiser, so it looks like that is the fit.

I am struggling with the lens drawing. Am I reading it correctly that the lens is 11.85” long x 5.63” wide? If I am the lens will be about 4” too short. Will the lens for the FJ Cruiser 7L10083 work on the Icon mounting bracket?

Thanks,

Dan,

Attached are the drawings of various mounts, plates and lenses for some visors that might work for you. Below are the part numbers for the complete systems so you can match the drawing to the correct vehicle. The Icon utilizes the 1750112 mount and the 7L10011 lens. As I mentioned in our phone conversation, the Icon system has an adjustable post so the orientation of the mounting bracket is not an issue with that system. Let me know if you have any additional questions.

I'm in for a set, we just need part numbers. Is it $399.00 for a set. Lexus no longer makes them in camel.

It's $399.00 per visor .... Correction $285 per.. They are great to drive with.... One of my clients purchased an Icon that I got to drive quite a few times... put about 300 miles on it..... If a group buy brings a substantial saving, I'm in... You have to believe if anybody's getting a break it's TLC .... They are still cranking out Icon's at a brisk pace.....there are 4 in the DC area that I know of...

Per visor? Damn.

Dang! If I was buying an ICON, sure it would make sense and be all gravy and such...but for my cruiser, I went with the $30 fleabay tacoma visors which have held up great for 4 years now. Mounted to existing holes. I guess if someone has that kind of money to spend on a $285 per visor knock yourself out. Thanks for sharing though...still a very cool mod albeit the price isn't.

subscribed, Group buy??? 285 each is a bit pricey

Got any pics and what year Tacoma?

I just got off the phone with Dan at Rosen. The $285.00 price is per pair.

I am seriously in for a group buy, would purchase RIGHT NOW if I could.

DARNE, have you discussed a possible group buy with them? Also, at least for me, I would prefer raw aluminum so that I can anodize it the color of my choice.

Since I've achieved 10 posts I have more attachment headroom. I'll post the other drawings this afternoon when I get home.

The 4Runner and Tundra mount are very similar. The hole spacing is the same and is a little wider than our trucks. The main difference is the angle of the post.

I was thinking about making a wedge adapter for the 4Runner to put between the mount and the truck to adjust the post to the correct position, but the ICON mount should handle it.

Dan

OK, another option would be just to buy the hardware for the arms without the fancy polarized see through material attached? Fiberglass or Carbon fiber visors would be nice, light, and much cheaper?

I haven't discussed a group buy, but I'm happy to do so.

Based on the thread it appears we may have a half dozen or so interested?

I thought about CF because we work with it a lot here but it's just too blingy

That price is less than what Toyota wants for replacement visors not to mention Oak is not longer available
