Well, I have to compare it to the old rough country lift that was on it. Rides a lot better than that.

Obviously you figured out what the issue was with the steering link to left shock clearance. Mine has the same problem. What was the solution? There is so much contact the shock on the left is actually dented on mine.

Actually, I had the pitman arm on incorrectly on the steering box preventing it from turning to full lock. That was causing the turning issue. After I corrected that I just ignored the slight rub. Can you take a picture of what your setup looks Like?
Here are some pictures I snapped really quickly. Hopefully at least one of them will be helpful in diagnosing this.

Looks to me like you have a different PS setup, maybe mini-truck? Not entirely sure. I don't see any rubbing on the drag link like mine. Maybe a different picture?
Yeah. I was kind of in a hurry when I took those. I'll take another one that shows how the link is actually denting the shock.
You an see that when the wheels are straight the steering link is in contact with the shock. At right lock there was actually some clearance between them, which I did not expect to find. I didn't think to check lock in both directions at the time. There's a small indentation on the shock housing from this contact.

Bumping this thread, I found the guy who sold it to the guy I bought it from. This answers some questions I had, I always thought the front doors were from the wrong year, and now I can confirm that.

1981-1983 doors look similar to the ones that came on the 1975-1980. The difference is that the 1981-1983 doors have an extra "bump on the door side" so that it can hit the dome light switch when you open and close the door, and light will come on when the door is open, off when it is closed.

Hey man nice build thread! Thanks again for the intake. I was going to go to the rising sun meeting last night but the body shop had a opening and I gotta get my cruiser ready for the body shop asap. I did order a tail gate after seeing yours. I think it's a nice detail. They do make them year specific too I found out.
What year was your 82 built? Mine was built 08/81, but title says 82.
I for one want to see how that box is attached in RedPandaRoll's post.. Just curious.
