Hello,
I'm trying to tighten up/adjust the handle/lever on the rear driver swing out door on my
78 FJ40. It's quite loose and rattly. The rattle doesn't bother me, but I want to make the door close tighter because exhaust is vacuming into the cab and my GF hates it! I can see what needs tightening but cannot get the siler handle off. How can I remove the little lock-pin from the handle shaft? Anybody here that has done this? It seems simple once I get the handle and black boot off of there....

Thanks a lot,
Jim

If I recall correctly, you have a roll pin in there that you have to punch out with a pin punch. That allows the handle to come off and give you access to the rest of the mechanism...
YMMV.

Thanks YMMV

I'll get a pin punch.

Jim

Yes, but why are you carrying your GrandFather around in back of your 40 :slap:

Lol, it's the only way he gets out and around anymore ;)
He loves the 40, too!

(Sorry, GF was supposed to mean Girlfriend)

I knew that

Well, tell her to suck up and take it like a man.
